There wasn't very much about that that was "cool." It was going to be a damn exciting finish, but it turned into a replay of last fall's race, except it's what Regan Smith probably wishes he had done. Not many things scare me, but the concept of a stock car going into the grandstands at 180MPH sure does.
i have visions of the catch fence not working, bad enough as it was, thanks nascar for setting this up.

It turns into 'cool' after you know everyone is alright. Before that it is breathless.
Yes that is so true it looked like a regular wreck and then the car went airborne and I think I didn't breath till I saw him get out of the car. Carl is right NASCAR will keep putting these wreck fest on and then some driver or fan will loose their life and then they will say we have to do womething.
Glad to see the fense did its job but who knows if this will be the case at another track.

First reports after the race were saying that 8 fans were injured, one lady sufferred facial lacerations and a possible broken jaw according the the news feed I read.
As soon as I saw the car rolling along the fence I was scared. I hate seeing that. On the other hand, I couldn't help watching either.
But....if the only way to win a race is to actually have another car pushing you across the line...then something is screwed up there. Just my opinion. It looked to me like some kind of novelty race...like a push race or a train race. Chaos Cars at 200 mph, if you will. I dunno if top tier racing should be like that.
Its exciting, but...
