Jr is doing a big mea culpa now. He is saying that he didn't know that he was racing Vickers for the lucky dog. In fact he didn't think he was even eligable due to the pit road penalty. So that makes the move even more suspect. Vickers was racing Jr but Jr wasn't racing Vickers??? The fan reaction over the past week wasn't something that Jr expected and he "re-evaluated his position" LOL

the block may have been dumb but it is legal, you may think not but nascar thinks diffently than us. all jr had to do was lift get back in line  behind vickers, hedid not have enough room to complete the pass end of story. bonehead move to jr and nascar.god i hate plate racing, there has to be a better way?

Blocking or forcing someone below the yellow line at Daytona and Talladega has never been illeagle. NASCAR makes judgment calls as to aggressive driving and whether someone advances their position due to being forced below the line or not. I am not declaring a position pro or con. Just stating a fact (as I see it LOL! I should work for NASCAR)

still doesn't sound like it's ever been "legal" to me

At yesterday's Drivers Meeting, NASCAR reiterated the rule about passing under the yellow line and provided the same information to all drivers and crew chiefs in a hand out, as they've done in past Daytona and Talladega races. The verbatim language is:
"This is your warning: race above the yellow line. If, in NASCAR'S judgment, you go below the yellow line to improve your position, you will be black-flagged. If in NASCAR's judgment you force someone below the yellow line (in an effort to stop him from passing you), you may be black-flagged."
