The Wood brothers are so outdates is a career ender for whoever ends up there. To say that Ford will support them, when Ford only supports Rouch is crazy. Look at Yates, it was back in the Dale Jarret days that Jarret openly criticized Ford for not supporting them with engineering. Hasn't got much better either, just look at that once powerful team..
It would be nice for Carpentier to make it somewhere. But to do that he needs a car, and there are few options in cup these days. What he needs is a miricle for someone to give their head a shake, and relize he has far more potiention than losers like Mears and Stremmie that will be taking (and wasting) 2 decent rides next year. Unfortunatly a snowballs chance in heck on that. To NCTS for Carpentier, where he can sit around bitching about being there like Alex Tag..
GEM buy BDR... I wouldn't bet on that one. Every time a team buys another team it has something to gain from it. Crap, forgot the name again, oh yeah Ginn to Earnhart, Mark Martin and points for the 15 car. BDR comes with... good sponsor - no, good engineering - no, same cars to use - no, good drivers - no, top 35 points - maybe... So why wouldn't GEM just start their own 4th team, I think they would be better off... Unless thats the only way into the Toyota camp......
Ross, your counter to duken on factory support there is good with the Wood Brothers in relation to Ford. And isn't Dodge only removing their factory support from the Truck Series?
"he has far more potiention than losers like Mears and Stremmie that will be taking (and wasting) 2 decent rides next year." Stremme, okay I will agree on that. He ran in Cup before, as we all remember the #40, and proved that was bad. So good call there! Though on Mears, you could be wrong. For me, I'm thinkin that Mears got screwed a lot over at HMS and that's what's made him look bad. As you recall near the end of last year, he was with Lance McGrew, and his finishes were on the way up. They had chemistry and he was doing a lot better than the rest of the year. Then for this year, they put him with Alan Gustfason and has that turned out good? No! So I think that Casey has got screwed over at HMS, even thou I like HMS, and hopefully it works for him at RCR. If he doesn't do well, while then we know it's the driver and not the team. Thou if he does well and Mark doesn't do well next year in the #5, well then we know that the 5 team isn't at the caliber of the other 3 HMS boys. Basically what I'm saying is next year is going to be a test/discovery year for Mears & the #5 team
It doesn't matter how you cut it, this year at HMS proves it. Jr comes over and keeps a HMS car in the top 10. So which is it. Jr, got the 25 team and simply outdrove Mears, or did they swap the 5 with the 25 for some unknown reason giving Jr what was the 5?
Mears had his shot at Gannassi, he had his shot at HMS. 25th in HMS equipment? Come on...

It was a Kyle Busch - Dale Earnhardt Jr. switch, not a Mears-Earnhardt Jr. switch 🙂 All they did was switch the numbers for Dale Jr. & Mears, not the cars.
Also, I wanna point something out in which I tried to with Alan Gustafson, as I don't believe in him being a good crew cheif.....
Kyle was paired with Alan. He had minimal success, qualifying for the chase, winning some races. This year he goes to JGR and gets paired with Steve Addington - now he's one of the three top guns.
Mears was paired with Lance before Alan, and had some really good runs, thou when with Alan, it's opps, those good runs have disappeared.
Basically my point is that Alan is not a good crew cheif and therefore with Casey away from him, maybe Casey'll prove his talent, as Kyle has (but maybe not as much as Kyle has).
As far as Mears-Ganassi, you honestly can't truly count that as Ganassi has never really had a top cup program.
