While cruising around under yellow during the late stages of the World of Outlaw feature at Ohsweken Wednesday night, leader Jason Sides spotted a ¾ inch fitting on the track.  Despite trying to get his message to the safety crew, they didn’t pay enough attention until he finally stopped on the track and pointed to the small piece of metal.

How Sides spotted the black painted piece was beyond comprehension, but for the Sprint Car star, he was taking no chances after a piece of debris punctured his tire on Tuesday night at ‘The Big O’ and took him out of the lead on the final lap.  “I just saw it on the track,” explained Sides.  “After last night, I wasn’t taking any chances.”

Jason also broke a long winless doubt, as his last victory came during the first visit to the track for the WoO stars in 2007.  “It feels good to win again.  We’ve been close a few times, and it’s nice to get back to victory lane.”

Sides started third in the A-Main and wasted no time moving to second, and beginning his pursuit of leader Craig Dollansky.

On lap five Dollansky almost got into the wall coming off of turn four and that slip up was the mistake Sides needed as he shot to the head of the pack, saying, “I was trying to get close enough to him, and then he got up high.  I was all set to give him a slide job.”

Sides  was the fastest car of the night, and even second-place finisher Donnie Schatz didn’t have anything for the leader after passing Dollansky late in the 30-lapper., but couldn’t gain on Jason.  With the finish, Schatz, the three-time champ will retain the point lead, while Sides should overtake

Jason Meyers, who won Tuesday finished fourth in the main, while Jac Haudenschild rounded out the top-five.  Lucas Wolfe finished sixth.

In the undercard, Steve Hess jumped to the front early, and then held off a charge by Mitchell Brown until he broke, and then from another challenger for the win.
