In 2011, SOS Membership has its privileges.

With the 2011 season fast approaching, its time to start filling out
those membership forms. The 2011 form can be found on the SOS website,
www.SouthernOntarioSprints.com under the rules tab.Please print off and
bring the completed form with you to speed up your registration.
Registration will be available at Brighton Speedway on May 21, 2011
prior to the pits opening. To register, please see SOS Secretary, Loree
Ferrell, who will be at the track an hour before the pits open.

Some of the longest running benefits of SOS membership are continuing in
2011. Full SOS members will enjoy a $20 maximum admission to the pits at
SOS events when they show their membership card at the pit window.
Members have voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting, which is
held each fall, on board positions and rules. Members are also entitled
to hold board positions. Members are also eligible for the year end
points fund payout and Championship points in addition to contingency
prizes awarded throughout the season. The SOS is always working on
adding more membership perks, so stay tuned for future announcements.

The membership fees in 2011 remain the same at $85 for pre-registration
(before the first race) or $105.00 after May 21, 2011. Team supporters
and pit crews can also purchase associate memberships for $40 per person
and receive the pit pass and voting privileges.

The SOS always welcomes other teams to race with us whenever they can
and temporary memberships are available for these teams. At the first
event a $20 temporary membership fee is due before racing begins. If a
team comes to a second race, an additional $30 fee is due before racing.
Race with us a third time and pay a final $55 fee before racing begins.
At the third race you become a full member, receive your membership card
and are entitled to all of the other benefits. Temporary members are
awarded points at each race but are not entitled to the year end points
fund payout until they become full members.

In 2011, the SOS will be co-sanctioning 2 races at Ohsweken Speedway and
2 races at South Buxton Raceway. Member teams participating in those 4
races will receive SOS points based on their finishing position in the
feature events.

Do you ever wish you could have a “mulligan” after racing some nights?
Well in 2011 you can! Before heading into the season ending Labour Day
weekend double header, the lowest points score from the first 8 events
will be erased from each team's points total. This will give teams a
break if they had a bad race or missed an event before the final 2 races
of the year. You will still need to have a minimum of 80% attendance to
be eligible for point fund payout, but we hope this new twist will help
teams out.
