Here are a couple of shots of the 2 seater sprint car that
veteran sprint car ace Dick Mahoney had at Ohsweken Friday
night. He's offering 5 laps in it - determined by a raffle, on
Saturday night at the Ohsweken Nationals. This car is real- it
has full racing engine, etc.

so who steers and who uses the pedals?
He drives from the front seat, the rear wheel is just something to hold on to. He was gettin around pretty good considering the rear wieght difference from a single seater. 18 - 19 second laps vs fast time at 13 and change.
Wheel base difference would be the big killer since the two seater had a 410 in it and I beleive no wing.
^ Correct, there was no wing...The car was built by Jack Hewitt and I have seen it in action at some US tracks...Oshweken got a little bit slick the night they had it out do Dick might have taken it a little bit easy (although not much!), but I once saw Dean Jacobs at a track in the US running times early in the night almost as fast as the single seater cars...Whoever rode in the back definitely needed new underwear afterwards!
