Your reports are great and we need more people to do what you do as there is really no press covering our sport. I wish I was able to do some but my writing and spelling skills suck but I plan to take some photo's from where I go this year and share them.

I know that we're already suffereing serious forum overload here, but I wonder if there could be a dedicated forum for our "amateur" reporters, where we could go over how-to's, and encourage new people to do the same. It is very rewarding, and it has a fair bit of value.

Even when threads don't get lots of replies, they're still quite well read. Back when I'd first started doing this, I was shocked, and admittedly pleased, to find out that a lot of the folks down in the pits were reading when they got home after the races.

And you know, its just fun for me. I don't see myself ever in the drivers seat....my participation in the racing community will likely never come about that way, but its nice to do your part and be considered part of the community. Its almost like I've been afforded the title of "honorary racer"

I say that, not to toot my own horn, but to explain how satisfying it can be, and to encourage others to do the same. We touched on it on the thread for Ashley's racing pics site. Short track racing has always depended on avid fans to keep the comminuty thriving. If you go back to the pre-internet days with Wheelspin and those other magazines and newletters - a LOT of that stuff depended on fan submissions. Everyone likes to complain and blame it on the tracks when the results don't come out, and they forget that the core fulltime staff of most of these places consists of only 2 or 3 people. They can only do so much - I've watched these guys scramble on race day, both before and after the show.

So if it pleases you, and if you can bring a notebook to the track with you, then why not do it? The community DOES appreciate it.

And if anyone wants to take up the mantle for their home track but are not sure where to start, feel free to PM me and I can at least explain my own method. Might not be the best method, but it'll get you started.

Shadowreport-

I missed our one and only trip to Deleware 20 years ago, we quit racing 7 yrs ago, that said, I always look for your reports on Deleware.

They are well written, informative, and make it like being there.  It would be great (i don't make it to the races anymore but, still read all I can) if there was someone writing reports (unbiased if they could be) on the races they went to.

Your reports are like Danka's pictures, always great.
