Sauble Speedway - Thoughts on May 17 Opener

you might remember that Mosport's oval originally was supposed to be a dirt track (and actually was built as such before being paved) . Mosport and Brighton might have made an interesting two track circuit if things had worked out.
(sorry Steve-aka Short Track Fan-we got a little off topic here but I guess it just seems to be a trend where the dirt tracks seem to be weathering the economic downturn better than the asphalt operations, but maybe just have better promoters)

Mike, the only local asphalt tracks that I feel make an effort to push the show along are Delaware and Kawartha, with Derek Lynch having learned from one of the best, his father in law, Thomas R. Curley.

I definitely will be doing a lot more dirt shows this year - wow, 32 sprint cars at Ohsweken and only $10!

i race at sauble and sunday night was the coldest night i have ever raced in...lol..i counted maybe 100 people in the grandstands last night but the pits full again with people.....for the first weekend jason has to be happy just to be able to get the races in.....rained both days hard but managed to stay away at the right time....

How many cars at Sauble last night and who won the features? What time did the show end ... I hope the fans dd not have to sit for almost 4 hours like Saturday night.

about the same as sat night...though there was about 5 more 4 cylinders....from sunset i heard..the 70 thunder from flamboro was there too.....28 wilkie won the llm, 22 ruthven won the thunder, i was 6th, 78 mccullough the 4 cylinders and i think the 28 won the midgets....55 fox won the street stock..show seem to go a little quickier..a few cautions in the llm feature but the races still went to 11..
