the b16a2 came out in the previous make, model and years of cars...

B16A2 * VTEC OBD1 1992-2000 Honda Civic EDM VTi (EG & EK)

I had got permission to switch the entire harness out to obd1 in order to get ride of all the problems and issues i had with obd0. when we were allowed to use vtec i took that opportunity to do so...

It still says in the rules NO Vtecs. So why are people running.
If the track is all of a sudden allowing them, Then the rule book should be changed or the car running them DQ.

HOW HARD IS THAT TO FIGURE OUT? that is an easy DQ. If cars show up with them in, they should be told to load them up and go home!!! :-[

FROM THE SAUBLE WEBSITE
Rain X 4 Cylinder Rules

1. Technical Specifications
The word stock when used herein shall mean unaltered: as factory available and produced by the O.E.M. (Original Equipment Manufacturer) for the make, model and year of the car being raced. That excludes all aftermarket "High Performance" parts, and all decisions and ruling shall be based on data obtained from the Canadian Service Data Book and other O.E.M. Specification Books. No off shore parts. All makes must conform to Canadian specifications. No interchanging of parts from make to make. All parts must be O.E.M. and available in Canada.

The 4-Cyl. Division is open to any approved 4 cylinder automobile having a factory listed wheelbase of no more than 104" and engine no larger than 2500cc. Cars may be front or rear wheel drive. Not allowed: convertibles, four wheel drives or trucks, Porsche, Audi, Saab turbo or supercharged, or rotary engines. VVT or Variable valve timing must be approved, no mid or rear engine cars.

willy you show me a civic with a b16 available to Canada before 2000, ya if you're talking Japanese cars they were but the rules state no offshore engines or parts, stock per year make and model. Your car is an EF which never came with vtec in Canada it should have a D16A6. Maybe you should get an owners manual and then you would know whats stock for your make and model. You do a lot of crying for a cheater! It's guys like you that are wrecking it for the rest of us.

We run a civic at the Beach and its a non-vtec DOHC and we seem to be fairly competitive even though its a lower hp than the other cars. Alot of our success is in set up. People need to turn their attention to a certain VW rabbit (#71) that steals the show and can win any night. The car is far from stock. He defeats the purpose of the class, maybe he should go back to a mod class

Well there seems to be a gray area in the rules once again...

Question: did you read what you posted?

The rules state that: Variable valve timing must be approved. Hence "VTEC"

1st - my car and VTEC engine were approved.

2nd - If it is that easy of a DQ and if it is cheating why would they have not said anything at the beginning of the year when the cars were looked over before they even hit the track? Also you have to tell them what engine you are running. They know its a VTEC and its perfectly legal.  "SO STOP YOUR COMPLAING"

3rd - my car is an SE witch came with a 1.5 L SOHC D15B2

I think you should find a different car to pick on outer than a Honda maybe a "VW RABBIT" !

Thanks for your 2 cent im sure it will change a lot?...
