competition reds are silly.....why not have triple 50's instead? reverse starting orders from the first to the 2nd and then accumulate points for the first 2 50's....the guy with the most points starts on pole for the 3rd 50, down to the guy with the least points starting at the back.....if your going to throw reds, then making it like this would be much better for both the fans and the drivers........that's my 2 cents on the matter.
Good Idea but as far as Sauble Speedway goes that just triples your chances of getting wrecked. last years final 75 lapper had taken over an hour to run, and if they let the LLM run again then i don't think there will be much left of the cars by the third 50 lapper lmao.
Where are the late models ( true late models ) going to come from for a Saturday show? Flamboro is running a regular points night. Of the Kawartha cars only Mercer comes to mind as anyone of them that travels ( he is thinking about it ) and only a few Delaware cars travel ( Brown and Sheridan ). I can see it being the Sauble regular LLM's with 5 or 6 LM travelers at best. Someone should help the new track owner with scheduling. I would hate to see his first LM invitational be a flop, never to return.
I agree. I go to Sauble often in the summer but the Saturday
after the long weekend in May is no guarantee of much of a
crowd or quality car count
Its a great place for races on warm summer nights
I could see some guys from Flamboro skipping that Saturday night as one of their drops to run Sauble. Not all of them, but 3 or 4. Also, there's probably still some guys who only do one-offs (ie. Octoberfest, APC 300, Autumn Colours) who'd be able to run (assuming they're not committing themselves to anywhere full-time for '08). I guess it'll depend on what rules they use and the payout, I guess...
Not nit picking but want to know for interest sake. They say this race is the longest in Sauble history but didn't ACT run there in the late 80's early 90's ? I swear I went to that race and Kevin Lepage either won or came second. Wasn't it 200 laps ?
