By Jim Clarke, Clarke Motorsports Communications/First Draft Media
It was a cold, late May Saturday night but Alderville First Nation speedster Howie Crowe treated the fans to some hot action on the half mile oval at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The veteran campaigner swept his qualifying rounds and then held-off a late race charge by defending track champion John Baker Jr. and Ken Donaldson Jr. – the opening night Thunder Car feature winner – to steer his #28 Crowe Brothers Roofing/Trail’s End/Custom Steering Chevrolet Monte Carlo to victory lane in the 20 lap main event.
