No need to get carried away ..all that dust etc. you speak of is avoidable to a great extend by covering your face when it happens, but smokers are blowing it constantly!!!and it IS MORE BOTHERSOME TO ASTHMA suffers and persons with copd than the odd drift from burnig rubber or oil.
All said it looks like everyone online agrees to a smoke free section...the government has put these laws into place for a reason and its about time the tracks follow suit. 😛
My opinion
Smokers have the right to infect themselves NOT others...
If you want to smoke its your business but dont push it on others who choose to be healthy
Is there a reason why they dont want to go to a specific secton...is it TOO much for them!!! all that smoke.
Remember our health care pays for them in the end.
Its actually (for asthma sufferers) equivilant to DRUNK DRIVERS destroying other inocent peoples lives.
id rather gert caught smoking the weed (which I DONT).....then inside the auto shop i run the fine is less lol
There's nothing nicer than the smell of gear oil leaking onto a red hot rotor or how about inhaling all that carcinogenic laden engine oil when its mixed with speedy dry, pulverized into fine particles and drifting over the grandstands waiting for all the fans to filter it through their lungs. I especially like the smell of fibreglass mixed with ground synthetic rubber when a tire is rubbing on a fender for 20 or 30 laps and I don't think the fibreglass or rubber particles are really hurting my lungs when I breath them in. My personal favourite is the smell of unburned toxic fuel coming from every race car on the track. I wonder if 40 years of asbestos dust from the past years of racing will ever bother us when a race car goes skidding across the infield churning all that dust up.
Just think, after we get rid of all the smokers, we can start picking on the little old ladies who need to use a gallon of perfume to mask their body odours. I know some people have severe allergic reactions to perfume and go into respiratory failure from breathing perfume fumes. Don't forget to leave all food products with peanuts at home this weekend because someone might have an allergic reaction to them and that would just spoil the whole weekend..
well said ........is it ok if we smoke in our race cars???lol
That is a bit harsh as they are in an open area. I'm quit smoking over 10 or so years ago can't even remember. No one said they didn't wont to go to another section. The tracks can do this if they want to but they don't have to if they don't want to.
If people are so concerned about smoke as another member mentioned before the race track is not a place to be as the smoke from the cars is bad as well I would guess.
Hey I thank smokers as they pay a lot of taxes I would be paying if they didn't smoke.
