Maybe set up a time schedule for practice for each division, that way drivers and crew will have something to work with instead of what is happening now.
Heard there was a great crowd and car counts Saturday night, nice for fans and drivers.
There is a time schedule now. Its been in place for a few weeks. The problem is there's no lineup people back there or any management of it. So when there's full fields in 6 divisions like last night it gets a little crazy. They just have to work on organizing it a bit better and it will work great
The speaker idea is what will work the best. However it requires an extra person to work the mic. Having a practice schedule never works. Someone could lay down fluid in the first practice session and it would throw everything else off. In my opinion there just really needs to be a set order. At all times you should be aware of what division is on the track and you as a driver should know when your own divisions turn is.
That is a good point, driver and crew should be aware of when they are to go out, I do know from my years of racing at Peterborough that drivers from different divisions just position their selves where ever and that does not help.
On a side note, great to hear it was a good night of racing at Peterborough, heard there was some excitement in pits over some of the racing, one incident I would have paid admission just to see that, sure hope the crowd was pleased!!!
I don't think timing it is a good idea because of reasons stated above. What would work is a practice order which we already have just forget the time. So if you have a thunder car for instance you know on that particular night you practice after the mods who are after the legends or whatever. It gives teams a bit of a heads up so they can be organized. when you hear the legends go out start getting ready and you'll be heading up just as the mods go out. But it takes a certain amount of responsibility from the teams to keep it running smoothly and some amount of management. And after a few weeks everyone will get used to it and it will be smooth. at Sunset and Flammy there's not really a time schedule, just an order. They call you when its time. The big difference between other tracks and Peterborough is that at Peterborough the line up lane is right down the middle of the pits. That's what makes it complicated. The other places have separate lineup lanes away from the pits.
I think we've just gotten used to there being lots of room and time over the last few years because the car counts were crap. Well now there's LOTS of cars and once we as teams and drivers get used to the congestion and adjust for it, everything will be just fine.
