The length of the LM feature has always been set by the year: 95 in 1995, 96 in 1996, etc, right up to the current 109 in 2009. If this event runs for another hundred years we're (well I guess whoever is around then, it's not likely going to be you and I) looking at some pretty long features
so right about the pit stands...we paid to be in the pits but had too sit in the main stands cuz we couldnt get a seat or find a place to stand to see anything...and if you did find a seat in the pit stand it was the bottom rows and there were people at the fence blocking your view of turns 1 and 2.
again, next year "the sunset speedway turkey bowl" time for a change maybe!
As long as Peterborough keeps getting the car counts and the money coming in the back gate, there is no incentive to change. If no other track steps up to the plate to offer another option, the only thing would be for drivers to just not attend.
It's tough because those racers just want one last chance to run before winter sets in.
The "3 strikes and your out" rule. What a bunch of b"@$ S@&T. In the LM race Morgan's crew were telling to park the car at the starters stand and walk away. I wish he had. And the starter out for a stroll. I don't think it is all his fault. I think it has to do with the scorers. They seem to take forever to organize the restarts. I noticed that the starter often looked up to the tower as if to say "what the H*^# is the holdup. JP needs to double the number of scorers for the weekend. Maybe that would help. (A bit of history...Reg Woodbeck parked his Thunder Car at the starters stand after he was DQ'd. The crowd and fans went nuts!!!!!!!!)
Slapdown, I agree with your suggestion regarding the weekend lineup of races. I have heard from drivers year after year....If this was a 2 day event for each class over th e 3 days it wouldn't be so bad...but when you have to be there for all 3 days in order to make it to the feature.......a bit ridiculous. Something has to be done.
JP......are you listening?
