Hi everyone, Longtime fan here with my comments if I may with Autumn Colours weekend. First off I am just a fan of racing but have been for 40 years and spend most Saturday's (for now) at Barrie Speedway. I have been to Autumn Colours probably for about the last 7 or 8 years now. I love Autumn Colours for the huge car counts and the abundance of enthusiasm the drivers have at this time of year; the combination makes for some the the most exciting racing all year. Autumn Colours is usually cold which brings me to the issues others have noted; let's start with the flag guy. How many times is he out strolling or just standing beside the track as cars go round and round without any changes in position. They could really cutoff time if he stayed in place. Why couldn't they have dried up the puddle at turn 4? Before any racing at all it could have been filled with sand or trenched away, no? These things hopefully can be improved on but I will be back none the less. Thanks for the time.

Sounds like they admitted they were wrong but wouldn't do anything to correct the problem.

Hmmmmmmm!!!!!!!
That's a shock......
I'm glad i didn't waste my time going this year....
just be happy you were able to drive your car off of the track and its still in 1 piece after Autumn Colors, with some of the idiots on that track and a field of officials who have no clue whats going on.....

With that said i'm glad to hear that there weren't any injuries this year.

Something to ponder. Autumn Colours 2009 ran a total of 394 laps ( LM 109 LLM 75 LLM LC 20 Thunder 50 Mod 50 Ministock 50 and 4Fun 40). If each class runs an average lap of say 20 seconds that means that the races can be run in 132 minutes or just over 2 hours. I know 20 seconds is a bit slow but makes my calculation easier. If memory serves me correctly the racing started at 1PM. I left a bit after 9 PM after the Thunder wreck as my son was tired and cold. Luckily I talked him into staying for the start of the Thunder race. I'm guessing that the race wasn't over before 10 PM so that is 9 hours to run the event. That is close to 7 hours of NO RACING. I understand that the track staff cannot be responsible for cautions but they are responsible for the wandering flagman, puddle in turn 4, endless caution laps with nothing being done, bad DQ/nonDQ decisions and the huge delay before the LM feature so the drivers could sign some T-shirts. I am complaining, as others are, because I am wary of Autumn Colours losing many of the drivers and fans that have supported it for so long. I heard quite a few drivers and fans sayin gthat this was their last. That is my fear and I hope that JP and the track staff can turn things around but I doubt it. It's been going on for 17 years and when Wallace left it seemed to lose something. It's the same complaints year after year and nothing is being done. JP you'd better smarten up or your CASH COW is over.

Autumn Colours The GOOD

Chase for the Colours

Autumn Colours The BAD

-$35 for my 3 year old nephew BRUTAL >:(
-puddle in 4 has been a problem for years >:(
-flagman >:( >:( >:(
-scoring ( LM line up among other things ) >:(
-3 cautons and out ( rethink that, cause 3 fine, in 3 and DQ'd  again BRUTAL )
-30 Thunders is too many ???
-huge lineups and only one person at pit entrance BRUTAL >:( >:(
-food lines are slow as hell. JP tell your staff they can help more than 1 person at a time instead of making a guy that just wants a coffee wait for the guy in front of him to get his burger cooked. BRUTAL
- they ran out of hot chocolate at one point. WHAT ?? this weekend is notoriously cold. IT IS CANADA >:(
- never did hear official word that Friday was cancelled. ???
- can you not print up a tentative schedule in case one day is rained out. If Friday is rained out SAT/Sun run at these times etc. It's not that hard of a job and would dispell alot of confusion with fans and drivers. :-

And one final suggestion. Enough of the three day marathons for some classes. Run Ministock, Mod and LM heats on Friday. Saturday run ministock , Mod and LM features and start the day off with Thunder and LLM heats with the Hurricanes thrown in. Sunday have OSCAAR heats and feature as well as the LLM and Thunder feature. Seems a better way to keep fans and competitors happy.  ;D

All that being said I'll be back next year but doubt our car will be. Shape up guys or like I said, your CASH COW is finished. >:(

Well, put it this way....I will NOT be nice next year and move out of the way for other people to order, beacuse they were getting there food BEFORE I was, I waited close to 10 mins for my food.....and I wasn't the only one, 2 guys almost got into a fight over who was next up for fries......I guess the cold temps....and waiting so long, caused tempers to flare over french fries haha.
