x-mas is coming and there are some affordable head n neck units out there . still think the hans is best but any of the others are good also at about half the cost. the hans cost me 1150 dollars but as my wife says " how much is it worth to be able to wipe your own arse" .

yes i see your point. Safety is a huge concern when it comes to racing and the extra money should be spent to keep you safe in case of disaster.!

But anyways I think we should leave this thread alone now as it was intended to be about autmn colours....lol..

Something i would like to point out is that having a car that is built like a tank or is able to be raced again after a big wreck is not the measure of a safe car . To those of you that saw the wreck that killed Dale Earnhardt the car showed very little damage considering the impact it took . NASCAR realized that the cars had become so rigid and virtually had no crush zones that the impact was directly transfered to the driver, hence the COT was born . Sometimes the car that is junk after a big crash is the safer car .

I think that with or without "crush zones," I would rather crash into the wall at 35-40mph in Kahnefreaks car, than at 210mph in a C.O.T. at the speeds that pure stocks go, you dont need the crush zones that you need in other types of racing, if a well built "tank"  absorbs just a bit of the impact, it is safe. I just think Joe Chance likes to stir the pot. If he wants to spend his week rebuilding bent racecars, at least it keeps him off of here!

Your street car has crush zones designed in it why would you not build your race car at lest as well as your grocery getter ? This is not rocket science and can be as simple as using square tubing instead of round in certain places since square tubing is almost 15 % less rigid. It is far better to decide where you would like the car to bend in a wreck rather then leaving it up to chance.
