Wyoming County has a nice four division show this Saturday Oct 11-pit gates at noon; racing at 4pm: 100 lap SST modifieds (tour championship race), 50 lap SST super stocks, TQ midgets, Mini Stocks $18.00 admission
-less than an hour out of Buffalo-last year I found it was an easy drive down Hwy 400 to Hwy 20A and east on 20A thru Warsaw and then first right after you climb the hill out of Warsaw. There are signs to the track (see website). Years ago, this track was known as Perry Speedway and was part of the old ERCA Late Model circuit comprised of Cayuga, Holland & Perry.
I found it interesting last year how many of the top ROC mod racers had SST cars also. The SST's are similar to a tour mod but have slightly smaller (and harder tires) and a 2 bbl carb and no dry sumps. Made a nice season end compared to some of the Ontario season end marathons.

very good fall show-nice temperatures also.
100 laps SST mods (started 24)-Jimmy Zacharias (took lead on lap 99 when TJ Potrzebowski got bottled up behind a lapped car) , Bill Putney, Tom McGrath
50 lap Super Stocks-(23 started) (sort of like a thunder car but 11" slicks and no camaros allowed)-Mike Nichols (the ROC winner) Kyle Sharpe, Jeff Merritt
Wasps-31 cars: Bill Verwys
Mini Cup-Kris Haman
Casey's Midgets-21 cars-Bobby Holmes, Dave Wollaber, Mark Schulz top three-all in midgets owned by Vinnie Christiano (Canadian participation-#31 Turnbull car, Jamie Collard from Princeton, Novotny from St. Thomas, possibly the 48 from the Can-Am club). Announcer had a nasty habit of announcing the cars while on the front stretch
----all in all overall, a nice blend of Lancaster, Holland, WCI, Chemung and Spencer cars
Five well known announcers for the price of one-Mike Paz from everywhere, Rick Mooney from Holland and Ransomville, Steve Petty (local), Dave Buchanan from Dunn Tire-Lancaster and Ken Hangauer for the Casey's TQ club.
I'd recommend it for those of you who are getting tired of the 2-3 day marathons the back gate driven promoters up here seem to think we want. JMO
