Race of Champions to Feature Top UMP Modified Drivers
(Plymouth, IN) The fastest dirt track in Northern Indiana will heat up this fall when the top UMP Modified drivers in the country arrive for the Lane Automotive Race of Champions, presented by All Star Performance.
Registration is open and the first entrants in the event are NASCAR driver David Stremme and Bobby Stremme. The Stremme family has been supportive of their local track for years and David and Bobby plan to put their competition to the test on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11.
“I have had this date marked since the speedway announced it in January,” said David Stremme. “The Race of Champions is going to have some of the best Modified drivers in the country. It’s going to be a great weekend!”
In addition to Lane Automotive’s sponsorship, Cometic Gasket, Inc., will be a big part of the Race of Champions.
“Plymouth Speedway has built a marquee event to showcase some of the most talented dirt modified competitors in the country and Cometic is proud to support the Lane Automotive Race of Champions,” stated Bob Gorman, Founder and CEO, Cometic Gasket, Inc. “The UMP Modified Series is a great place to market Cometic’s high-performance line of automotive gaskets. We already have an existing relationship with DIRTcar through our relationship with the World Racing Group and the DIRTcar HP program so this is a natural extension of that partnership. ”
The 50-lap Race of Champions is set for two big days: Oct. 11 and Oct. 12. The gates will open at 3 p.m., hot laps will begin at 6 p.m. and racing begins at 7 p.m. ET both days.
