FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
STYRES/HILL'S RACING PR: THREE FEATURE WINS!
July 17, 2014 - Ohsweken, Ontario - The Styres/Hill’s Racing team swept the Sprint Car portions of last Friday's event at Ohsweken Speedway, and claimed a feature win and several top 5 finishes at two different tracks on Saturday.
FRIDAY, JULY 11 - OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY
Dain Naida joined Glenn Styres and Keith Dempster as Styres/Hill's drivers in the 360 Sprint Car division at Ohsweken Speedway last Friday, while Ryan Hunsinger, Robbie General, Dylan Westbrook, and Aaron Turkey raced for the team in the Crate Sprint Car division.
Naida's focus has been on 410 Sprint Car racing in Ohio this year, but an off weekend allowed the Michigan driver to return to Ohsweken and claim the feature win. Styres brought home a solid 5th place finish after starting 10th, while Dempster went from 12th to 7th. Styres is still atop the championship points standings at Ohsweken, while Dempster is now 9th.
Hunsinger drove from 9th to 1st to claim his 3rd win of the season, and 1st since suffering burns in a TQ Midget event at Peterborough last month. General initially crossed the finish line 2nd, but was disqualified when he forgot to go directly to the inspection area after the race. Turkey finished 4th, but ended up being credited with 2nd, while Westbrook's first ever Crate Sprint Car race resulted in the 600cc Micro Sprint veteran being credited with 3rd place. Hunsinger continues to lead the championship points standings, while Turkey is 2nd, and General is 10th.
SATURDAY, JULY 12 - BRIGHTON SPEEDWAY AND LIME ROCK SPEEDWAY
Styres, Dempster, and Naida continued their weekend at Brighton Speedway in a Southern Ontario Sprints event, while Alex Hill and Dylan Westbrook visited Lime Rock Speedway in Le Roy, New York for the Woodchuck 100 event for 600cc Micro Sprints.
Styres was able to finish 2nd at Brighton, followed by Dempster in 3rd, and Naida in 4th after starting 13th. Glenn is now 2nd in the SOS standings, just 3 points behind leader Mitch Brown, while Dempster is 4th.
Fresh off a good run in his first Crate Sprint Car race, Westbrook had an even better run back in his 600cc Micro Sprint at Lime Rock on Saturday. He started 3rd in the first feature, but got caught up in an incident, and eventually came back to finish 12th. The second feature was better, as he started 1st and led the entire race to claim the win, and followed that with a run from 12th to 9th in the 3rd feature. Hill had a top 5 run going in the 1st feature until her nose wing came off, and then had engine trouble which eventually ended her night.
