OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY RACERS READY FOR ROUND 2

by Tommy Goudge (May 31, 2012) – 118 cars filled Ohsweken Speedway’s pit
area for the Friday Night Thunder season opener last week, and a similar
turnout is expected this Friday, June 1st when Grisdale Racing presents
“Sponsors Night” at Ohsweken. Race teams all have the opportunity to
invite their sponsors to the speedway for a night of entertainment as
guests of Ohsweken Speedway this week, with the Corr/Pak Merchandising
Sprint Cars, Lighthouse Tattoos Thunder Stocks, HRW Autmotive Mini
Stocks, and Pierced Parts Bombers all in action, plus Vintage Cars.

CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING SPRINT CARS
Ohsweken's own Glenn Styres won last Friday's season opener for the
Sprint Cars, and leads the championship standings as a result. Dain
Naida of Tecumseh, Michigan, and Alton driver Keith Dempster are tied
for 2nd in the standings, followed by Vineland's Chris Steele, and
Burford driver Jamie Collard, who are tied for 4th.

LIGHTHOUSE TATTOOS THUNDER STOCKS
Brad Herron of Brantford got the win in the opening race for the Thunder
Stocks, and leads the points standings heading into this Friday's event.
Caistor Centre's Cory Turner sits 2nd in the standings, followed by
Caledonia driver Lee Winger, Jack Myers of Wainfleet, and Caledonia's
Mike Thorne.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Hamilton's Jason Lungaro scored his first career Mini Stock feature win
in dramatic fashion last Friday with a last lap pass. He leads the
standings heading into round 2, followed by Burlington driver Jeremy
Hughes, Mike Evers of Caledonia, Hamilton's Brittani Myers, and Paris
driver Steve Miller.

PIERCED PARTS BOMBERS
Another Hamilton driver was also a first-time winner last week, as Max
Chechalk went to the winner's circle after the Bomber feature. He leads
the championship standings heading into week 2, followed by Carlisle's
Davey Boughton, Jesse McDonald of Caledonia, Waterdown driver Rodney
Rutherford, and Hagersville's Dusty DeBoer.
