Racing was great but the track owners really need to invest in transponders to keep the restart line ups accurate. The Sportsman race was an absolute mess , on the first caution, the P38 of Rob Pratt was put at the back after being in 4th when the caution flew. He wasn;t an involved car. Track officials refused to give any explanation following the nights festivities. The ODLM;s were their usual 800 HP monsters and put on a great show. It is really too bad Oshweken or Merritville can't host this class on a more consistent basis so they get some fan support from the GTA and Golden Horseshoe area. To travel to Chatham is a bit tough these days for the average fan every weekend.

Duken-Little Valley New York is not too bad of a haul to see the dirt super late models. Check out their schedule for the monster half mile. Back to HUMBERSTONE, unfortunately you see the same type of family cliques at various tracks, both pavement and dirt, seeming to influence the outcome. I think Pratt finally pulled off in exasperation after being sent back. Jame Friesen drilled the Darren Peters #1 a number of times but always seemed to come out as the white knight. At Ohsweken Friday night, Mike Bowman and Pratt got into a scuffle in victory lane and I swear Bowman was the agressor, but Pratt gets DQ'd. Great way to scare off American participation in the Lucas Series in which  participation by Ransomville and Genessee drivers is minimal at best.
It was  a good show-way too long though. I just find the dirt super late model and 360 sprint car drivers have a little more respect for their equipment. The sportsmen guys have been tearing up equipment for the last month. Maybe that's why Mark Dixon apparently raced his dirt sportsman at Varney last night!!!
Kudos to Deb Bush of Chatham in getting the fledging ODLM series underway. Would be lodgical to have more races at Ohsweken next year-shame just one this year on Aug 29 and I'm not sure that will be attended by the American drivers we saw yesterday.  I figure there were another 10-12 Chatham area drivers who did not participate. I know some run at Oakshade Ohio rather than Buxton also but I expected 3 or 4 more. Also thanks to Ricotta, Valone, Boomer, Oakes and Carley who could have easily run at Stateline and Eriez, closer to their home bases

Bowman did not walk over to Pratt's car, Pratt walked over to Bowman's car...

The DQ had nothing to do with what country the driver was from...The same thing would have happened no matter who it was.  Rules are rules.
