Montreal Busch Race

I received a phone call today from a supplier and was told that I had a pair of complimentary tickets waiting for me to the Busch race in Montreal. I wasn't planning on going, but thought what the heck, I can't turn down free tickets. I looked up the event and track info to find out when I should be there.
My enthusiasm turned cold in a hurry. I wonder if everyone planning on attending realizes that there is no on site parking.  And no on site camping. You have to take the Metro (public transit) to the track and then it's about a 2km walk to some grandstands (according to the website). This isn't very tailgate friendly for those accustomed to doing so. People have to carry everything around all day? I've never been to this track so I was surprised at these arrangements. Has anyone been to a race there? Is it as much as an inconvenience as it seems it might be? This isn't what I expect when I go to a Nascar race. Any input would be appreciated. I'm sitting on the fence as far as wanting to go based on what I've read on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve website.

It's always like that on the street circuits, Toronto Molson Indy, Vancouver Molson Indy etc. Mosport is different because it is permanent.

The toronto indy had parking all over the place and underground parking no long walks to the track.

Same with Vancouver....you could park like 400 meters form the main grandstand

Agreed, I used to go to the Toronto Indy when CASCAR raced there, we parked over by that wind mill (it was actually pretty nice in there, lots of shade trees, we tailgated) and our seats we really close. We would just get there early every day, it helped, as we only had to drive from Burlington though.

As racenut states, that's one of the reasons I decided not to go to Montreal, I enjoy camping and being really close to the action, Mosport would have been ideal for that, anyway..., I'm more of a short track fan, and I'm headed down to Bristol instead.
