All who plan on taking in The NCTS/TransAm weekend at CTMP will be greeted by some major changes and upgrades as the new ownership moves the facility to,...wait for it...The Next Level! But this is very much for real! Went down last Saturday for day 1 of the BEMC Spring Trophy Races, the 63rd edition. Spectator tickets are free from the CASC-ON website. It was a fantastic day on all counts as the weather was 100% perfect and the array of race cars was deep and the speeds at Turn 7 were impressive! The new Event Centre looks amazing and with the Castrol Tower gone the views are opened up at the start/finish line. They've also improved the sight lines in a few other locations such as making it possible to actually see Turn 2, the top of it at least, from Turn 5! The infield at Turn 5 has been cleared as well as the hillside on the outside so the view is much better. In fact the whole turn 4/5 area has been revamped on the spectator side of the fence! There is now ample parking at Turn 4 and a paved walkway to Turn 5 which also features a brand new concession/washroom building! The other washrooms appear to have had some attention too. Most impressive. Oh yes, noticed the tree line behind the speedway grandstand has been removed. Plans of some sort?  ???
