It is with great pride and affection that my wife and I would like to offer our congratulations to Jim Rossiter for winning the 2011 Championship in the Late Model division at Mosport. This has been one of the toughest years for Jim in racing as he and his crew chased a poor setup for at least 6 weeks but their perseverance payed off when they went back to an old setup that started to get the car back up to the front. I have to admit that there were race nights when he felt like parking the car in the trailer out of frustration but his sense of pride drove him to do the best he could with the equipment he had and he never gave up on the desire to succeed. Honesty, integrity, and hard work payed off for Jim this year and these are the qualities he needed to accomplish what he did.

I have kept this part separate from my first part so as to not take anything away from the accomplishments of Jim winning his 6th Championship. As most of you know, Mosport no longer needed my services as a Tech person this year because it was believed there was a conflict of interest because my son raced at the same place I was teching. There was also a few drivers who felt Jim had an unfair advantage with me checking their cars. I need to openly tell everyone that no one accept Rip's car, driven by Dwight Brown, had anything I wanted to relay to Jim about the construction or set-up that was used on their cars. If anyone had any secrets that they didn't want me to see, get over yourself because you had nothing for me to see. For the small number of people who complained about me teching cars, what is your excuse now?

I would like to thank Rick Warnes, Bill Pickford, Randy Hollingsworth, and Tyler Hendricks (Delaware) for having the faith in my ability to tech the Modifieds for their Techtonics sponsored series. This series has been supported by the above mentioned people and each of them own and operate a race car in the division. They also know that my son, on occasion races one of the Warnes' cars and at no time have they ever had any problem with me teching any of the cars in the series regardless of who was driving. Somewhere there is a message being sent about the type of job I'm capable of doing.
