Thorold, Ontario (June 24) – Merrittville Speedway insures a night of fun Saturday June 26th when K&K Insurance Canada representatives are guests in the Toolneeds Tower with a 5 division Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Event on the track featuring double Modified Lite Features.

When the gates open at 5:30 – drivers from the Tuesday Night Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series will have their karts on display.

“When you look at the current Modified Lite point standings,” informs (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “you see two former Tuesday Night racers … Paul Klager and Chris Steele at the top of the standings … taking a look through that division and others – a number of other drivers have kart experience as well.”

The Tuesday Night Lucas Oil Weekly Karting Series features 7 Original Pizza Logs divisions - Drummond Home Hardware Garden City Automotive Novice 1, Tim Phillips Garage KC Auto Parts Novice 2, RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1, Ed McPherson Construction Junior 2, Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Flathead, Philbrick Farm & Garden Equipment Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal and the Cassell Manufacturing Senior Flathead Divisions.

With racers – some of them second … third and in some cases fourth generation drivers – you just have to check out the action on a Tuesday Night. Gates open at 5:00 with racing beginning at 7:00. Grandstand admission is free.

One karting event that deserves to be checked out is the annual Burris Tire 50/Twenty-Five Special set for Sunday July 4th.

Headlined by the $500 to win Billy Bones BBQ Senior Animal Feature also on the schedule is a $250 to win Lucas Oil Senior Flathead Event, $200 to win J’N’E Towing & Recovery Junior Restricted Flat Head Event with Weinmann Electric Ltd. Presenting the $200 to win Junior 2 and $100 to win Junior 1 Features. Division co-sponsor Tim Phillips Garage and J’N’E Towing & Recovery will present a special event for the Novice 2 Division with Canadian Roadside Assistance presenting the Novice 1 Event.

Kart teams from all over Ontario … New York and all around will make the trip to Merrittville for the rare Sunday event.

A late event shower during June 12th’s SMS Machine Night caused the balance of the event to be retooled with the delayed J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lite added to the final event in June that will blast the season into Summer.

This past weekend the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites were not part of Lococo Wholesale’s Night as their busy 2010 schedule found them on the road to events at Edelweiss and Brockville Speedways where Klager won both events.

When the gates open June 26th at 5:30 – All Students from the ages of 13 to 18 with valid Student ID Card will be eligible for a $2 discount on Grandstand Admission.
