Thorold, Ontario (June 30) – KC Auto Parts Victory Lane welcomed two new winners June 29th as Merrittville Speedway’s Lucas Oil Kart Weekly Racing Series returned after a two week absence.
Two drivers – Jordan Cosco and John Matthews - won their first features in the Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2 and Philbrick Farm & Garden Equipment Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal Divisions respectively.
Other Original Pizza Logs Burris Feature action saw Ryleigh Sliter win her second Drummond Home Hardware Garden City Automotive Novice 1 Feature while Eric Veihdeffer won his third RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1 Feature.
Jordan Peters won for the fourth time of the season in the Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Division while Brandon Ruch ran to his fifth win in the Tim Phillips Garage KC Auto Parts Novice 2 Division.
In the Cassell Manufacturing Senior Flathead Division – Dave Ruch remains undefeated – scoring his 6th win of 2010.
Kart Racing continues Sunday July 4th with the Burris Tire 50 Twenty-Five. All seven Original Pizza Logs divisions will be in action – the Drummond Home Hardware Garden City Auto Complex Novice 1, Tim Philips Garage KC Auto Parts Novice 2, RCM Racing Equipment Junior 1, Ed MacPherson Construction Junior 2, Superior PetroFuels Junior Restricted Heavy, Philbrick Farm & Garden Equipment Wilder Racing Engines Senior Animal and the Cassell Manufacturing Senior Flathead Divisions.
In 2010, the Merrittville Speedway Kart Club welcomes the following companies as presenters of the features – Billy Bones BBQ (Senior Animal), Lucas Oil (Senior Flathead), J’N’E Towing & Recovery (Junior Restricted Flat Head and Novice 2), Weinmann Electric Ltd. (Junior 2 and Junior 1), Tim Phillips Garage (Novice 2) and Canadian Roadside Assistance (Novice 1).
When the gates open at 3:00 – Grandstand Admission is free. A mandatory Driver Meeting will take place at 5:30 with heats beginning at 6:00.
