Well I just made the mistake of checking the price for a ticket to next weeks race and based on the price of $40.00 wonder how many will go.  I just went to Barrie and spent $35.00 for a seat which included 2/3 of a card of their local series cars so I got about 6 hours of racing for the $35.00 fee.  Here I get 2 hours of racing for $40, something doesn't seem right.  I realize that each track decides what price to charge and they are free to set whatever price they wish.  However if they expect fans to attend their events they might want to reconsider overpricing themselves.  I just bought front row seats for the Martinsville race for $55.00 US there I get to see 43 cars where at Kawartha I get to see what 20 cars hopefully.  Even if I decided to only att the Truck race at Martinsville I could sit in general admission for $30.00 and again 30 plus trucks there.  I was reading an article recently where Derek and Mark Dilley have organized a number of track promoters to see what they can do to help bring back the fans and improve the quality of racing all across Ontario and applaud them for that.  But here's a perfect example of forcing the fans away cause I can't afford the price of 2 adult tickets and a child seat for just 2 hours of entertainment, this doesn't include food or gas.  What could have been 7 people coming results in 0 people coming? Maybe that's an easier way to put it.  Feel free to rip me apart for my comments but something just doesn't add up considering there is little for a fan to do at the race during downtime and you can't buy any tickets in advance you have to stand and wait in the line that day.

Sorry Derek this is one time I can't support you!!!!!!

I would imagine it has something to do with NASCAR's pricing.  I'll be paying $40 or so to get into Riverside today (for just the ncats I believe).  Delaware was roughly $40 in June while the oval Mosport race was $30 I think.

It would be nice if the races that had no local flavour were a bit cheaper but me thinks that NASCAR probably has a hand in these prices since all the ncats races I go to seem to be roughly the same price.

there's little to encourage folks living west of Toronto to put up with a trip on the 401 to see another 17 or 18 car field. (and I don't feel like spending $50.00 on 407 tolls). Too much emphasis on the almighty NASCAR and not enough on trying to get a full field.
The whole series has to be rethought. Too many old monied drivers from the former series and very little new blood. Road racing carpet baggers tend to skew the stats somewhat. One thing Cascar definitely had right was that you had to participate in "X" number of oval races before running the road shows. Now anyone can run.

Well I have to say that after a turn of events I will be attending the event after all.  There are people out there that care to see fans in the stands.  No that does not mean Kawartha is the one wanting fans in the stands it came from somewhere else.  In a round about way yes NASCAR does effect the pricing for the events, however its strange that one track is willing to price their event at one price compared to other stand alone NCATS events.  I'm ok with there being no restriction on how many oval events a team must do in a season because in all reality that would have meant even smaller fields this year when you look at how many teams ran single events at the road racing events.  No limit allowed a number of drivers to make an appearance and that may eventually lead them to more appearances in the future as sponsors get exposure.  I also agree there is little incentive for fans to come from anywhere west of Toronto other then the thrill of it being the final event and its always a great race.  But then again that can be said about all the events.  We as dedicated fans will drive pretty much any distance as long as we are getting our money worth.  And that is my biggest issue here, you are paying $40.00 for a ticket to watch racing for approximately 3.5 hours including qualifying time.  Thanks for letting me know that most tracks were charging that anyone know what the cost was for St. Eustache, Autoclearing and old Sun Valley?

Auto Clearing was $40. St-Eustache was $50 if you pre-ordered them, i think they were $55 day of show.
