Chris Morrow continued to pave the way to a track championship after passing leader Larry Jackson on a late restart to capture his second feature win of Kawartha Speedway's early season. Point leader Dan McHattie had electrical issues and only completed 2 laps. Top runner Dwight Brown also had problems. . Top 5 were Morrow, Jackson, Mercer 3rd after starting 18th in the 20 lap race, Jamie Horner and Dave Morgan 5th after getting damage in a lap 2 caution caused when Earl Ireland got into pole sitter Cale Bailey. The late models in the pits were in no particular order 81 Mercer, 98 Graham, 10 Morgan, 71 McHattie, 97 Toms, 11 Morrow, 84 Cronan, 1 Parsons, 20 Brown, 67 Bailey, 16 Kimball, 14 Horner, 8 Sinopoli, 31 MacPherson, 46 Mowat, 84J Jackson, 77 Fernandez, 27 Wallace, 99 Burke, 43 Ireland, 91 Beyore, 27 Wallace, 5 Moroney, 24 Josiasse and 40 ??. Sorry guess there were 25. Considering the KD LM rules have put them on a bit of an island, it doesn't seem to have hurt the car count. And most are in good equipment.
In Thunder Wllie Ryens returned to victory lane with a convincing win over Andy Ford. Early season front runner Norm Mayhew was forced to reskin his car to conform to the KD rules and finished 6th.
In the Ministock 50 lap feature Too Moroney took the checkers in what was a pretty entertaining race. A 7 or 8 car battle for 7th went on for the last 20 laps of the race.
In another post I was saying the new stands were only 4 rows high but I did hope they added on to what I saw 2 weeks ago. They did and they are about 10 high now and they seemed to be well received from the people I talked to.
The fan appreciation portion of the night was also, as usual, a great addition to the night for the kids.
Tonight was probably the best night I've had at KD in a few years.

Had McHattie not had ignition problems, I think Morrow would have had his hands full. In both heats , McHattie ran he went through the pack and won both of them. Including starting at the very back and whipping the group in 10 laps. Talking to Chris after the race, he thinks what gave him the opportunity to get past Jackson was the last caution allowing them to all bunch up together and then go to work, had it stayed green Chris thinks he would have run out of laps get around him.
