I think part and to what level that I don't know, but the weather was a major concern for most of the day and for those in attendance know exactly what I'm referring to. Off in the distance just north of the track you could see heavy rain coming down over the hills. So possibly a part of it was the fact the out of town drivers didn't want to haul all that way on a work day and take time off just to find out racing was cancelled as it has in the past when the slightest bit of rain threat cancelled a night of racing only to have fantastic weather.
I'm definitely a novice on this part, but I know there is a motor difference when you compare the late model from Kawartha to the late models at Delaware so I'm betting there would be heavy weight penalties for those with the larger motors then the Kawartha ACT late models. It's partly the reason that the outside delaware late model teams struggled in the APC event just didn't have the motor to match the delaware teams so they got pulled down the straight and not enough time to make up for it in the corners.
I sure wish all the tracks in the local area that run late models would find some common ground on car specs so that more teams could travel to all the different local tracks. Then it would no longer be about the car but the ability of the driver to adapt to the various tracks in Ontario.
DWfan4ever......i agree with your point regarding then rules...it would be great if all tracks had the same or similar rules. As for the 100 lapper, i think it was one of the best LM races at KD. Great battles. It was great to see Morgan LM 10 competitive again. i hear that car counts are down at all of the tracks in ON (except for Sunset). it is now time for all of the tracks to work together.
Wasn't that the point of Derek and a few other track operators starting up a group like either 2 years ago or last year? That way track operators could actually work together to see how they each could improve the performance on their own track which then would lead to a better output for all of short track racing. Did that group never pan out?
