New Hampshire's Brad Leighton wins the 2009 edition of the Summer Sizzler 200.

38 ACT Late Models were on hand for what was a incredible 200 lap affair.

Leighton would lead the early portion but it would soon be evident who was class of the field as Laperle & Pole traded the lead several times threw out the race, but after a late race caution Laperle's car started to drop back and the battle for the lead was on between Potter & Pole for the lead. Another late race re-start as the 97 & 2 charged into turn-1 Potter could not hold it and slide up the track and lost several spots, Leighton took over the 2nd postion and wasted no time as him and Pole made contact on the front stretch and Leighton took the lead....Pole tryed his best to re-take the lead on the outside (which he worked the outside well all race) but it was not to be as Leighton won by about a car length, Pole 2nd... Payea 3rd & Allard 4th.  not sure who got 5th.

Race was slowed by 12 yellows (Lap 6,10,55,92,105,105,108,118,181,185,188,189)

A couple other notes...... no real major incidents considering how many cars and how many spins there were, great job on the part of everyone out there.

Save of the Race goes to Donahue as he got turned off turn-2 ....locked up the brakes....then let go of them...rolled backwards spun the car back around grabbed a gear and keepth on going....and this all hap pend within a matter of seconds, it wasn't like he almost came to a stop at all this was a high speed maneuver!!

Thunder Cars was taken by Kyle Donaldson who lead most of the race.  A great field of 23 Thunders took to the track today....only 1 major incident as looked like the 77 & 88 made contact....caused the 53 to spin and he got clobbered by the 51 & 86

Mini Stocks....25 cars hit the track buzzing as it was another battle between the 1 & 0 ...with once again the 1 Juriga coming out on top.

Legends had a huge field of 27 cars.... a real exacting race, won by the 99 car (sorry forget the name).  Big difference a week makes for the 79....after winning the Chase for the Colours last week... he ended up getting in an accident and literary flying into the turn-1 wall.

and kudos to mother nature as it was a perfect day!

Awesome Sizzler once again only sad part is ..we gotta wait a whole year till the next one haha
