Should I post the web sites of Lilydale , Crown Royal and East side Mario's again

Yes. A good point was being made there.

I was in Canadian Tire Today and they had a large cardboard cutout of Peter Gibbons car as a dump bin. Nothing about the NCTS anywhere though.

Oh...know what was in the dump bin? Tony Stewart, Dale Jr and Jeff Gordon stuff.

You have to remember Nascar is a huge Business. You really think they came here to save our series? Isn't it funny they buy the series the same year they are having a Busch race in Canada?

Canadian Tire who sponsors the series paid a lot of money to Nascar for this deal. Tracks Pay Nascar for races, Sponsors Pay Nascar to use the Nascar Logo, TSN Pays Nascar to have the Nascar Canada & TV rights, Teams pay Nascar for tires and they seem to cost a lot more this year when you buy them from Nascar. See what do all these things have in Common? Nascar is making money.

Is TSN making the money back in commercials? Most likely not haven't seen any new commercials. Are drivers getting bigger payouts no. Most teams are still probably losing money by racing in the series. Do the math here tires are what 200.00+ to buy from nascar 200.00 x 4 - 800.00 change 1 set and that is 1600.00 for just tires. What does it cost the teams to travel to the races? Gas and other expenses and this doesn't include if something happens to you car. If you get into a wreck it is cheaper to park your car and risk more damages. Well only after one race I heard the track broke even.

Come on we have to look at it from the team point of view we all know we enjoy great racing but at what expense that drivers don't survive? Maybe here is the question how many drivers in this series do racing full time in this series and don't have another job?

A lot of people are paying Nascar but who are they paying? Purses are not large like I heard they were promised to the drivers. Canadian Tire who paid a lot of money really doesn't seem to be a big part of it other then pay for there name after Nascar on the series. Yes I saw the Peter Gibons Car Bin a CT and it was filled with Paper Towels for Mechanics and I was wondering nothing about the series. Nothing on NascarCanadianTireseries.com about CT or even a link for them. The series doesn't even get it's own site. Here is what you get on the site ads for everything Nascar in the US.

Now we will look at this Nascar Canada deal what is this really for the Nascar Canadian Tire Series or Nascar Canada meaning the Busch Race??

These sponsors like lilydale are supporting the Busch race and not our series so why should we support them. One person her says because they are paying for us to be able to see Nascar Canadian Tire Series Races on TSN, maybe but TSN paid for the right to the races hoping they could make the money back.

Nascar is smart there is a lot of dollars in sponsors in Canada and that is why they are here to get them dollars. Does Nascar put a lot of money back into the sport who knows as they were paid a lot of money from a lot of people and if I was in business I would try and make as much money as I could and payout as little as I could. You are in business to make money.

but here is the really question are you ready what happens when there is no money left to get what happens to the series? What Happened to the Nascar Dodge Weekly series at Delaware?? This is what I heard after that deal it took them almost two years to get back on their feet.

Do you really think the Nascar Busch drivers really want to come to Canada or even go to Mexico? but why do they go it is because Nascar tells them they have to go that's why as these are two big race markets and maybe the US sponsor market is Nascar has that covered??

Who knows what Nascar really wants from the series here or from Canada. It just seems it is all about money for them and there is nothing wrong with that as I will point it out again Nascar is business.

But at least show us you want the series to grow and put something back into the series maybe bigger purses for the drivers. Make the races a better experience for the fans.

I know if I wanted a series to grow I would put more money into it to help the series grow and get more back at a later date when the series is much bigger.

I guess we will have to wait a year or two to see what really happens to this series.

Just my thoughts on the whole thing

Please comment agree, disagree with me.

This is not a bash session on Nascar, CT or the Sponsors. I go to Nascar Races, I Buy from CT  & I buy from Sponsors that support the CT Series.

I don't think it is a corporate responsibility to support a race series.  Those companies promote on TSN because they want to reach a larger market.  CTC seems to be the only Canadian company that is interested enough to through money at the series.  I think you have to look for companies like Home Hardware and Hortons to find out why they sponsor a race team.

Maybe if enough of "like companies" were identified and good "business" reasons to sponsor a race team were presented to those companies, then some money might come into the sport.    At the end of the day, its not up to corporate to support racing in Canada, its up to racing in Canada to make it a good deal for corporate.

This is going to be hard to put down in words, but I will try.

The talk of NASCAR coming to CANADA was a big deal. Everyone believed that Nascar would step in here and solve all the problems of racing here in Canada. There were several Teams that figured with the series changing flags that the Nascar name would bring great big sponsors that were sitting on the side lines waiting for CASCAR to be put out of business.
Fact- there really is no more sponsors here now then when it was CASCAR, in fact, we have lost 98% of our contingency sponsors because the amount of money requested to put their logo's on all the cars, which went through the roof.

Just for the record, I want to be the first person here to thank everyone that supported our efforts as contingency sponsors in the CASCAR Series.
Thanks to Castrol,  Fast Eddies Race Wear,  Snap-on,  NGK,  Goodyear,  Grand Sport,  Whelen, Moog,  JE Pistons,  Holley,  Digital Imaging,  Inside Track,  Brown Insurance,  Performance Fibreglass,  FloPro Exhaust,  McColl Chassis,  AP Race Engines,  NMT,  Turbo Blue Race Fuel,  Mechanix Wear,  Intercomp Scales, and Choko Race Wear.
These company's plus many more helped the CASCAR Series and we greatly appreciated their support.

Last year we were told our fenders were going to covered in decals from all the new contingency sponsors, so it is only fitting I thank them as well.
Thank you  Bud, Goodyear, Mechanix Wear, Holley, Mobile 1, Sirus, and Digital Imaging.

Sponsors, and Race Purses are what makes racing happen and without their support the cost of operating just increases to the point that eventually the race teams fold up like a cheap set of cards.
You can always reshuffle the deck and try to survive but it doesn't matter which card you pull out of the deck, chances are your going to draw the Joker.

Readers and fans always ask what it cost to run this series and based on a yearly budget, the number is about $25,000 per event. That number does not include going out West to run the 2 events which adds an additional cost of $15,000 per year based on Hauler expense, Crew expense, Hotels and Airfare.
The number of $25,000 per event is also calculated on not destroying equipment and not blowing up engines. In my case we run Gibbons Motors, we have 4 in the stable at all times, and in 5 years we have never blown up- Thanks Pete, your the only place I save money !!

As you can see- when Race Teams are faced with an operating cost of $350,000.00 per year it only makes sense that it is a very hard thing to make happen when the money isn't there for the taking.
Race fans always complain about the price of a ticket...
I will trade you bills anyday !!

This is not a dome day letter, just some simple business notes that show us the future and our projection for each teams profit and loss sheet.

For this series to survive it is going to take allot of work and allot of time.
Hopefully we are just in a stall mode at present.
Someone needs to find the keys and get this thing fired up.

For those that missed it on the initial thread that was deleted check out what the following sponsors are doing to support the NCTS on their web sites.

http://www.lilydale.com/?language_id=1

Click on the pic of the race car with the NCTS logo and check out their promotion of the series.

East Side Mario's site has an EVENTS section see what they are doing to promote the series.

http://www.eastsidemariosottawa.com/

Crown Royal has a great site unless your Canadian or follow the NCTS check it out . The first thing you will notice is the pop up that Canadians cannot join the racing promotions part of their site and it is for Americans only , which is very funny since their is on a .ca site . It is strange that of the six series or races they mention NONE are about the NCTS .

http://www.crownroyal.com/

To those who think that we are lucky that TSN carry the races two or three weeks after on their network and this is because of NASCAR  , I call BS  because  this is no different then the lawn mower racing or womens volley ball from Nova Scotia that TSN carries. Combine all this with $ 3100 to win 200 lap races  with car counts about the same as they start a Flamboro for a weekly feature and I really have to wonder how stupid you have to be to pay the same price as a ticket for a Nextel Cup race for this crap .

With all the great local racing and the events just over the border like Oswego to see I doubt I will go to a single NCTS race this year , I put going to see the new track they built in Grand Bend way ahead of anything that NASCAR has to offer me in Canada this year.

When NASCAR packs their bags and leaves Canada again and the tracks dont have to send all that money to Daytona Beach I think things will be much better for the racers and the fans.
