So are you saying that Jim was penalized for his bottle tossing incident at Mosport?  If so why wasn't the other bottle thrower also penalized?  I think I remember the second person involved in the tossing incident but to avoid getting the name wrong I won't as its not fair to get them involved.

In regards to the qualifying, my understanding was that if a car did not take the green flag to start their qualifying run they were allowed to reattempt.  So did Ranger take the green or did he pull in prior to taking the green flag?

See this is where I wonder because I believe that I have seen it happen a few times at Nextel events.  So what's the difference between NASCAR and NASCAR Canada doing?  I'd say they are being consistent there anyways.

There is always going to be a golden boy/girl in the big leagues that the sanctioning body will use as a media draw . Ranger is the flavour of the season.  At least when he threw the bottle at Micksy , he didn't have his helmet on. I hope someone will offer him a Kleenex at Cayuga. He's lucky Micks didn't throw  him an Irish salute... ie... a fist in the mouth.  ;D

ACE- Unless they haved changed the rule ( and that wouldnt surprise anyone ) NASCAR has always said in the Meetings on all road corse events for qualifying once your car takes to the track it is considered an attempt to qualify, and as soon as your car enters back onto pit road your session is over.
Those are the words of Richard Buck and in his own words- " thats the way we do it boys !!"

Is it true that at the meeting everyone wanted an explanation and NASCAR refused to give them one, but told them anyone that wanted an answer could ask them in the Little White Trailer. Drivers did just that and stood in line at the trailer for a half an hour but no one would come out and answer the question.
If it was as simple as an answer of Ranger didnt take the Green, why didnt Buck just say that in the meeting, or was it a case of they really didnt have an answer.

Politics and Racing dont mix... or do they !!
That deal sounds like a true Political Statment... "but I never inhailed !!"
