...perhaps my answer and reasoning was not accounted for.

The poll discussed removing mufflers for "road courses", so I assumed that would mean for road courses only. I'm all for no mufflers, more horsepower and louder exhaust notes. In fact, the mufflers are likeheat sinks too and get very hot compared to a typical pipe that dissipates heat faster.

I was just making a point that whatever the rules are for one track - we should maintain that for every race. Otherwise teams with more time and resources can easily find advantages race by race... and those that convert cars have to work extra hard to make their oval car more competitive on a road course.

I didn't think whether they sound better or not had anything to do with the poll. Get CASCAR to lose the mufflers altogether - and I'm right there with you guys.

I do have to say at the Totonto Molson Indy I love the sound of the cars especial when they come roaring into pit road! Oh I am so confused! LOL Mufflers or no Mufflers that is way the poll was started......I have no clue what others are thinking.

I guess I have to go with removing them for road courses. At the same times I am with you Mark.....why not mark the rules the same for every track oval or road courses. I don't think though that you would get more horse power with a muffler. But hey what do I know now a days. I am here to just be kicked around.
