I know what the purse pay for the NASCAR CTS deal is... Does anyone know what the NASCAR Busch race pays. You would think they should be really close as the operating cost is about equal, and the travel is about the same.
This will be intreasting to see.
As our buddy midamerica well knows, Busch races pay $50,000+ to win. Montoya made $125,000 in Mexico. I would expect the Montreal race to be in that range.
As he also knows, the purse has nothing to do with costs. The payout is based on the revenue received by NASCAR from the track, sponsors, TV, etc. The revenue that NASCAR receives from the Busch series is many times what they get from the CTS.
As he also knows, while the travel costs for Busch & CTS may be similar (probably not but let's say they are), the cost of running a competitive Busch team is far greater than CTS. If it costs about 30,000 per race in CTS (a number I have seen quoted several times), it costs around 150,000 per race in Busch.
Keep stirring that pot!
