capital city in ottawa is giving away tickets to the busch race. I was NOT the winner tonight. Interesestingly the announcer said it was a big weekend including the Daytona prototypes on friday wiht some big name drivers. And then the Busch race on Saturday. No mention of the NCTS race
I got a post card from the track asking me to buy tickets to the race. Maybe other tracks should do this too let people know what they have going on.
As much as I have wanted to see a NASCAR race in Canada, I have little or no interest in going to Montreal. NASCAR's only reason to come here is to make money. I know that is their business but they should also be doing it for the good of the sport and I don't believe that they are. This race is all but a gimmick race so the NASCAR elite can wine and dine in ritzy Montreal. A NASCAR race to me, maybe not everyone, is one big event right down to the camping and tailgate party. Where am I going to pitch my tent in Montreal, the local discoteque ? If NASCAR had any interest in their Canadian fans the race would be at Mosport ( although an oval would be my pick ) where tens of thousands of us could congregate and have one hell of a time. I'm not paying through the teeth to spend a couple of nights in downtown Montreal to see stock cars on a street circuit. At least Mosport is a hi speed road course where we could see some real action. I know Mosport doesn't have all of the amenities of Montreal but they did say they would build whatever NASCAR wanted if they did get the race. I'm sure when they did their track reviews they liked Montreals nightlife better than Bowmanvilles. BTW when are we going to see the Rock back on the schedule ? Bad Rock, Big Bad Rock, Yeaaahhhh RROOCCKK. Yah, I know, never. Like NASCAR always does, screw tradition and long time fans, bring on more money and get us new fans. This is going to bite them in the you know what sooner than most of you think.
Slap I agree on what you are saying. Mosport Road would be a blast and they could setup camping and a lot more people would show up.

I'd recommend Chez Paris'. Nice scenery but watch out for the wildlife. lol
I, also, received a post card advertising the Montreal race. I'm not planning on going this year. I too, will be heading to Michigan this August for our annual trip.
