The WWS was a great idea, and encouraged allot of drivers to travel to different tracks on "off nights" during the first year, when they had a major sponsor and the promise of somewhat reasonable prize money. and the competition between Tom Walters, and John Gaunt was great. But then for whatever reason, the major sponsor walked, and so did the prize money, and it was no longer worth bothering with. The problem with this type of format is that it is impossible to start without a major sponsor. The beauty of the original Alstar type format is that all it takes is a few tracks working together and the major sponsorship naturally follows.

It would be nice to get 3 or 4 tracks working together. But the problem is nobody wants to get together because all they are interested in is making the BIG BUCK and letting the drivers , owners &fans suffer with what you have today ( Short Fields ).This message goes for all tracks especially Paved as this seems where the problem is.Tracks I keep saying get tracks get together on the same wave length. Sit down figure it out its not rocket science. As I said before the dirt tracks have it going good now.Take the SOS (Southern Ontario Sprints ) platform and run with it. Take 4 tracks go to each track 3 times. Fans get what they want big fields. Tracks get what they want fans =money, Drivers and owners get bigger purses and formost show this plan to a sponsor and you would be surpried what could and should work with this.Hello tracks (Paved) lets get it started before it is to late
is the king of the hill not a good way to induce new drivers to the sport. it has to be done with safety in mind though. secondly somebody would need to follow up with the fans that try king of the hill, problay a driver, see if they are interested, help them get involved in the sport we as driver have to make ourselves more accessible. we have the passion or addiction to pass on to new drivers that is the strongest weapon we have to grow the sport, make it easier to join.
speaking of car count has anyone noticed the busch Field is two cars short of a full Field at the glen.
seems kind of odd...but the field filler teams have no interest of runnignthere..thats prolly why...also..this time of year is a nice weekend to ahve off..speacially when ur not in the points hunt.
