All the best to all the teams that are competing out west this weekend and Edmonton.  Hopefully you get as good a show out there as at Barrie, the fans will definitely love the show!!  If anyone has results please post them as soon as possible so we easterner's can hear how everyone did.  Thanks!!

Southernsponsor, Where the heck did you read I dint think they should race out West??  My question was who was going out West....
I think they should have races out west and out east, as Canadian Tire is coasts to coast, and they need to be supported. If the guys in the West think so much of this event then they would have 20 cars out there on there own, but they dont because of the expence to build cars for only 2 events, and I understand that 100%- smart!!
As for supporting the series I have only seen 1 team travel east to race with us here, so does that mean they dont support the series?? Does that mean they are not Canadian??
NO- That means they dont want to travel east because of the expence. Understandably!!

As for you guys getting dumped and loosing the Western Series, it was a bad deal, and I dont know why they did it, but I can speculate. I think the Western Sereis was trashed because of the cost to run the series out West and NASCAR decided it was going to cost to much money.
After saying that, and if I am right, NASCAR's intent to saving money was not an option for it's race teams in this case because regardless that they dropped your series they still expect the eastern guys to spend the cash to go out west.
I know of 2 cars that are going west but not to Vernon- just Edmonton, as they feel that will save them money. It will save them a ton in race expences and a ton on travel expences, but why drag 2200 miles and not go that extra 700 miles and run both races ? Because of the cost !!

You mentioned the race in NB... Again, how many teams from the west will travel to that event... For that matter, how many teams from here are going to travel east ??

I do support racing, and everyteam in this series, so dont think for one minute that I think they should cancel the races outside of the base of race events in Ontario and Quebec.
The question I was asked was how many cars will be out west - list them...
Example- Eastern cars 27,4,9,1,84,39 ...... Western cars 33, 24, and so on...

This is a huge expence to any team, but if you are sponsored you really dont have a choice. For teams unsponsored or short on operating capitol, then this deal makes no sence, just a way to dig another hole a little deeper.
As for supporting the series, we dont need teams going west and running out of money, then coming back here and cant afford to run the shows here, thus making the entry list's smaller then they already are... that is my point.
The expence to go out West would run you in 2 or 3 events here, so does it make sence for everyone to go west- NO !
Nothing against the West, just a little math skill I figured out.

I think you misunderstood me southersponsor, and please dont think for one moment I dont understand where your coming from as it must be tough to have cars sit all year except for 2 races. Think of it this way- Just look at all the Money you saved !!
I have one question for you. Do you guys run your NASCAR cars in the Western Sportsman Series and if you do what are the changes you make to adapt to the Sportsman rule book ?
Just for the record- We have raced in this sereis for 6 years and have never gone West because of the expence. I dont want this to sound like we dont go West because of NASCAR, we dont go west because of the huge cost in travel and the fact that we run unsponsored.
In other series we have raced in we travelled where ever the series went, but we were always taken care of by the series or sponsorships with regards to the expence, either in tow money, bigger purses, or just as a good token by the series to cover our expences, and yes, there are series that will help you out finacially to get to the tracks- even cover your race costs if they need the cars !!

Yes the West got nothing and that was bad I wish they could have had the West Series and do something along the lines of what Hooters Pro Cup does. Race both east and west for the over all champ.

Have 2 races out west and two races in the east. The west should also have a 10 or 12 race season.

What did Nascar tell the drivers out west?? If I remember correctly it was nothing but you are more than welcome to run the East series. Can someone fill us in what they were told by Nascar.

mid did you not say for those that are going out west stop in thunder bay and get some drugs to get your head on straight?????  anyway sorry for the misunderstanding.   cars out west  21, 36, 31, 97, mark derks (not sure of his number), 35, 44,69.    mid  we are planning to come to kawartha for the season finally and hopefully run a full schedule next year.  we have lots of time to look for sponsors.  evan,  we were told that nascar may pick us up again in the near future, and get the 40 some cars out of the shops and back to the tracks.  good luck to everyone.  jw #21
