Anybody hear DJ on Race Time Radio tonight. He talked about his Taledaga race. They also had the legend series on about the top five cars failing tech at Peterborough and there is protests so there is no winner declared yet. Check their web site out tomorrow and listen to the rerun.
dumb question but can someone explain why DJ is 22 in points but the owner is 32 in points!
Drivers Points= All of the points the driver gets
Owner Points= All of the points the Car gets
So some cars have had different drivers in, but still get owner points, for that car #.
Owners are awarded points in the same manner, PLUS they get points for attempting a race, where as drivers do not. All teams who pass inspection and fail to make the race get owner points that descend in the order of quickest non-qualifier to the slowest. Those teams earn the position/points immediately below the last car in the field. So if a team misses the race but was the fastest non qualifier the owners would get 31 points and an other drivers would follow the 3 point drop scale, down to a minimum of 1 point. Also,I believe that DJ is getting locked in to races even though he is not in the top 30 in owners points because there are some teams ahead of him that have not ran all of the 10 races as of Talladega
