D.J. will be qualifying today for tonight's Busch race....Only 44 cars , so chances are pretty good he'll be getting some seat time tonight.

Awesome, can't wait to see it, my butt will be in the lazyboy, eyes glued to the tube and I will wrap myself around a few Budweisers (have to support the sponsors).

Good luck to him, except for bad racing luck I am sure he will do well.

here's the latest updates from phoenix.......

yesterday DJ ran a 28.7 in his first pratice session but the car was too tight and the guys worked to free it up in the centre of the corner and off.  That time put him 40th quick

The key was his rookie session which was at 4:00ish and the guys freed the car up and he really picked up time.........they put stickers on and taped up the nose and he ran a 27.7 and said there was still car left.......If he can duplicate that time today that would be good enough for a top 15.

Last nights pratice he basically sat out....he ran a couple of medium laps just to see where the sun was going to be setting for the race.  At the end though Randy MacDonald was wishing that they had done another qualifying run to show everyone what they've got.

Everyone here is just hoping for a good top 25 qualifying run and make the show........the teams pretty excited with the way the car is handling and the power under the hood is fantastic.

qualifying is live on speed @ 5:30et

and the weathers fantastic 🙂
