thanks-not as crazy as I thought I was. When I was talking to some friends from North Tonawanda last week while at Lancaster, I really had to be specific as they confuse it with Cayuga County Speedway, the dirt track at Weedsport, New York which the old timers still refer to as Weedsport. Trouble is I told them to look up the schedule under the "Cayuga Speedway Park" moniker. Hopefully they'll find the new website.
Cayuga's new owners might remember the sins of the past administration that never advertised in the strong American Racing newspapers like AARN and Gater and failed to let Western New Yorkers know that the track still existed.
Alex will be racing, he was just testing the 27 car- due to his car not being finished yet!
In regards to Dean writing about racing in Canada. I have numerous email replies from him stating that he didn't make it to events and it really didn't matter as the "stick and ball" reporters wouldn't give him space in the paper. I think its time one of the major news media printers showed racing in Canada some respect and start publishing results and write-ups. I even offered to help them at the Sun and the Star last year in getting them information about tracks and results from the various NASCAR events. But they continue to refuse, despite the efforts of the teams and drivers to bring awareness in Canada. Maybe things will change this year??LOL
I wldn't hold your voice DW
Norris, Tim and Jim from the Sun, Spec and Free Press do pretty good jobs, but the rest of them are a joke...I doint even think the Globe or Post have motorsports writers, do they?
