First time down at Delaware working on Joe Gonzalves super late model, the Meloche car was barrel folling thru corners 3 and 4 on the outside of the track.  I think it was car #81, wasn't a bar on that car that wasn't bent or twisted.

Wow that is some kind of spectactulor wreck!!! I have never seen nothing like that in my entire life. Can remember a couple times at Sunset where a car climbed the banking and knocked out both the fence and starters stand but never where one catupuled over the fence like that!!! Thank god everyone involved is OK

I've attended races there in years past and those IMCA cars are the 4th fastest class that normally runs there after Dirtcar 467 mods ,Dirtcar 358 mods and Dirt Sportsmen. Thank goodness it wasn't a faster class of car. On the other hand, do you guys think the narrow tires that the IMCA cars run made him dig in???. Wonder if it had been one of the DIRT classes with the 13" tires, would the tire just have been knocked off the beadlock and not dug in???? The front wall there is 6 feet of concrete and then the fence.  Just makes you think how many tracks we attend have stands that are too close to the track?
On Dougs Dirt Diary, an interview with the track's Chip Burdick (forgive me if I'm repeating myself here) indicated he thought the lead car blew its' motor. I think the smoke was just from a right front meeting a left rear. It made the news on all the stations in Watertown NY for all the wrong reasons and I'm sure will show up on one of those stupid reality shows. The dilema for the track videographer is does he sell the tape for profit to tv and risk losing his job at the track by scaring away business for the facility. The Caprara family from Watertown do have the bucks to put in the place.
(and re the previous comments re Delaware-the walls there are still, I believe, Jersey Barriers and that lip at the bottom act as a launching ramp. Flamboro's poured walls are not 90 degrees to the racing surface and can mimic the same as a Jersey Barrier. They tend to put a car on it's side quite easily or worse.
