Hi my name is Kris Lawrence and I race a Super Stock at Delaware. I am trying to do some research into tires as all i know about is the Hoosier 7" Treaded tire.

I know flamboro switched to the 8" tire and i was wondering if some competitors could shine some light on the tire life of these tires.

I know at Delaware a set of tires especially right sides is good for about 3 weeks. Since Flamboro has run both i would like to know if they did in fact last any longer.

Im also curious about the tire life of the towel city recaps, any information from competitors would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Well we ran 12 nights at Flamboro this year on 2 sets of tires. We changed after six nights, and not really because we thought they were worn out, but because my brother ran about 8 on his first set and they totally went away, and we wanted to avoid that. So we split the season six nights on each set, and won 4 features doing that. My brother ran probably 16 nights on his two sets plus a few of mine i gave him at the end of the year, and he won 6 features.

Some guys are changing them a lot more frequently than that, but i've never felt at a disadvantage with a bunch of nights on my tires.

With the 7 inch tires we ran just as many nights or more too.

The recaps are awesome, fast right down to nylon. It's easy to tell them apart from a 980 as you can clearly see the grinder marks on the sidewall and Towel city retreading is clearly visible in the rubber on the sidewall. 10 races at kawartha on 1 set no problem and they do get faster as they wear past the grooves they shed some of their extra weight and gain extra width. $105 a tire is hard to beat too.
