Was it a good race or a freak show?

The race was good when it was under green.  A ton of cautions, all minor stuff, no multi car piles ups. It took an hour to get the first 20 laps in, mostly one car deals.

Jay Christie and I were the only Limited Late Models (and were we ever)  the stronger LLM Walters, Bentley, Watson, Baker, Shepherd, Inglis, Wright didn't come and surely they may have done better than us but I couldn't see them taking on the 400 HP Late Models, not on this type of track.  The longer straights help the HP, plus many of these cars are hooked up. 

I thought we'd be better than we were, we did get into the 15: 6's a few times, still off by 2 to 3 tenths, but a ton better than our visit for the Grisdale race on August 12th. 

Imagine being at an NHRA event, and your lining up with a dog-sled.  I think we were off that much.  We ended up 16th, and because we had an easy night will have our car ready for Barrie on Thursday.  We were lapped twice by the top 5 the second time, who were all close.

Congrats to Howse and Shaw, and great run by Kenny Wallace, a very easy going funny guy, just like on TV. 

I agree, it was a good show once they got past the first hour of
cautions.  There was more passing than usual at this track, and
Jason Shaw put on an impressive show working his way through
the pack.  He then chased (cleanly) Paul Howse for quite a few laps
near the end.  And yes, Kenny Wallace ran a strong race in the
Shane Gowan car.

I understand why the drivers don't like it, but starting fast cars
at the back (even if it's only 1) can make for a better show
from the fan's perspective.
