Im confused? Whats wrong with what there doin? sounds to me like the caution came out for a wreck with all four cars in turn one. If thats the way it went down ( dont know, wasn't there ) then whats the problem. It is wierd that the first yellow ends the race though. Why would David not be running in the points anymore? A couple bad nights are throw aways now are they not?
Racer43 - David was dumped from behind while leading the race on the front straight (no caution). Going into turn 1, on that same lap, several other cars got together in a separate incident and wrecked (this brought out the caution). Since David was leading (albeit fishtailing wildly) at the stripe and the track threw the checkered flag after the caution, they revert back to the last completed lap - which David led.
The confusion, and bad feelings, stemmed from the fact the track gave the with to the #56 (after black flagging the #82 for rough driving), then changed their decision and gave the win to the #37 since he had led the last completed lap. After teching cars then receiving several protests (both written and verbal) by other drivers, the track decided that they hadn't reached half way and shouldn't have called it a complete race (oops). Confused yet?
So...if the race isn't over and they are going to continue it, why are the #37 and #82 (neither of whom were involved in the caution) still put to the back? Why did the track officials call the race complete? Why would they restart the race this weekend and only run until the first caution? I guess you have to be a Flammy official not to be confused by the whole deal!
Brett are you saying the caution was not put out for the 82 & 37 but for another incident down the track. Now this is really confusing.Question whould the track had called a caution on the 82 &37 if the other incident up track had not happened. As for the placing of cars to realign the field were the other cars involved moved back also .As for the winner I think it should have been the original number #56 with all accident cars to the back. Now the decision whether the race was complete by the sounds of it was not .That is a technically but the track should have to live with the consequences and pay out how they finished that night. With caution cars at the back. You may not have some happy drivers with the decission but everybody get over it and move on.If drivers decide to not race and go else where well that is their decision to do so.As for the track hate to say you goofed on this one and this may come back and haunt you in the future.
OK. This sounds like a big clusterunowhat. Hopefully you guys can put this behind you and go kick some butt.
Racerfan44 - Yep, the officials said that the #37 was off the safely off the track and did not bring out the caution. The caution was for the pileup in turn 1. The cars involved in the wreck were scored to the back of the field. We (the #37 team) feel that if they are resetting the field and that the caution was based on the wreck (not the spin), then the final scored lap had the #37 and #82 running 1-2 and that's where they should restart.
