I'm sure they think why fix it if it ain't broken for weekly shows. Should 30 cars change to compensate for the occasional visitor?. On the other hand, it's probably hard finding old mustangs that are still solid.

not as hard as ppl make it seem! theres 2 in hillsdale on the highway that i saw a few years ago....they are solid...if theres two in hillsdale they are out there and available ahha

If you dont want to have 16v ran all the time thats fine, but that doesnt mean that you can't update your current rules to become more competitive with other tracks.  Allow 7" rims, drop the ride height to 5",  allow people to cut springs(very cheap). allow urathane bushings (cheap).  allow them to run Falken tires if they want (if they dont already).  they are about $100 a piece new. Drop your weight rules to 2300 lbs. Doesnt cost much to buy a sawsall blade to skin panels.  The list can go on of easy stuff they can update in the rules to become much more competitive and up to date instead of being 8 years behind every one else. Except Varney. They are only 5 years behind them.

Very 1st line of the Flamboro ministock rulebook in bold letters

"NOTE: This class is intended to take a stock four-cylinder production car and
install a roll cage and go racing."

in truth, flamboro mini stocks share the name and 4 cylinders with other tracks, not much else. Aftermarket/or cut springs and bushings, Lightweight panels, etc. don't cost much. (High offset racing rims are $$$.) but those things are not in keeping with the above stated intention of the class. "getting with the times" or "being 8 years behind everyone else" or "being more competative with other tracks" are not part of the above statement of the intention of the class.
It just makes it a bit  strange when it comes to invitationals.
As far as the class as it is now, it has been said that what is there is working pretty good and i would have to agree (although it is not without issues). Feature winners this year to a Volvo, mustang, Honda, VW, Dodge, with the only nissan and toyota racing getting seconds more than once.

Back to frost fest. I remember skipping a couple of late races last year 'cause it felt like i'd had enough for the summer. By february I was sure wishing i had gone to those races. The winter can be a long, cruel, old broad with no racing. Come and play...you will be glad you did come february

if your gonna start cutting springs, chopping bodies, running all this "non stock" stuff someone should try and start an outlaw mini clas...oya someone tried that...lol...the majority of mustangs run at flammy are families and friends of casales that have raced there for years...they have his ear and casale will want to keep them happy...i would be shocked too see any changes soon.

I would normally say this is a good idea although, I have to disagree on this one with flamboro. The 4cyl. racing at flamboro is the best in the province by far. I can't recall being at at track where the pack is so close.

i am biased i need to chime in on the best 4 banger racing........i would imagine that 4 cylinder racing is awesome at flammy but to call it the best by far is a stretch........we got a whole new group of awesome fast cars with rookies who show talent and control beyond their limited track time, and i would say easy that 10 guys could win a feature at least on any given night........3 wide happens for most of the race, and everyone respects one another and puts on a hell of a show......
if this works here is a litttle clip from last year which concludes with the unfortunate crash of one of the perennial 4cyl. contender ken britt which ruined what was looking like his championship season.......just wanted to show what sunsets 4 bangers do and the speed carried through the turns for the amount of fast cars duking it out....someone post a better example if you can one i gotta work lol but i'd put our sunset 4 bangers up against any for quality of show

Try finding a 240 with good frame rails and wheel wells/ strut towers.. These cars are worth gold if there in good shape.. I had a MINT one I was going to put on the road, eventually i posted it for sale.. within 2 days I sold it for $3700.. Be prepared to have a good welder and alot of sheet metal if starting with anything under $1000 bucks, unless you can find an old lady that doesnt know what her never driven 240 is worth lol.. Both of the cars Butler has built were complete rust buckets to start with. The 240 of Hannah that got written off at autumn colors didnt even have frame rails, they were completely gone. I'm proud to say both the ones we have built have been on the more solid side.. If anyones got any questions about these 240's ill most likely answer it. In my opinion the best car to start eith for a class allowing a maximum of 12 valves, and alot more fun to drive then those fwd hondas.
