the race track is an unpredictable place you are correct on that sir. However rules and procedures shouldn't be unpredictable, should they? This is not the first time we have been screwed in this series, however unless we get screwed again at Flamboro it will be our last!!

At first I was thinking total for each car but I believe it to be Josh had a time of 51:31.134. this ended the race the moment his car hit the transponder scoring line. We appear to be scored .239 seconds after Josh. Shawn appears to be .241 second after Josh and so on. Josh stopped the clock and we are all scored after that moment. I was told there was some discussion as to who finished second, in fact the decision was in or around 30 minutes later. The lap sheet clearly indicates the #60 was in second place at lap 99 at the line.
If the transponders are the method of scoring as was explained to me after the event then its not as it appears. I was told the series has no photo finish equipment and transponders were final decision. Both the 81 and the 60 had transponders located in the correct place.
This is truly a matter of inches given the time difference of .002 😮
The JWO Racing team would not want to take something we didn't earn and I hope all the other teams would feel the same way.

It sure appears from the times that Jake got second. I don't think a photo finish would help with that close of a finish between 2nd and third (I wasn't there to see it though). It is puzzling how a car with a quicker total time would finish behind a car with a slightly longer time. Does the transponder system also score position as you cross the line? With that close of a call would the physical position of the transponder have anything to do with it? A 1/4" or 1/2" difference may tell the tale if the system scores position as you cross the line. That is the only reason I can think of why the scoring system would have put Jake 3rd with a quicker time.

At this time I would clearly like to state that the JWO Racing team is a supporter of the LUCAS OIL SPORTSMAN SERIES and will remain so.
We are committed to remain in this series and support the series as well as all of its officials.
We do not harbour ill feelings towards any officials and will continue to work with the officials and the competitors of the series and offer our full cooperation where ever and when ever possible.
We have worked very hard on and off the track promoting the LUCAS OIL SPORTSMAN CUP in a positive matter by word of mouth, social media, and personal appearances. It is our sincere wish that our relationship with the LUCAS SPORTSMAN CUP SERIES is not under any undue scrutiny. We look forward to seeing all of the competitors and officials alike at the Flamboro Speedway on Sept. 29 and urge all of our fans to come out and cheer on the "Juice Box" and the rest of the fine teams in the LUCAS OIL SPORTSMAN CUP's final race of the 2012 season

I wasn't suggesting any shenanigans Jim just to be clear. When a race is that close fractions of an inch matter. Unless the officials use a micrometer to place the transponders then it is what it is.
