thanks for the info guys, but unfortunately i have come up short on a lap counter person.
can i run in sept. if i haven't run previously or is it a championship sort of thing?
If the lap counter person is the same as a scorer and your still talking about Enduro class they dont use them anymore they have the electronic transponders in car hope this helps
speaking of which, I wonder what a mustang with a 302 fuely would do out there, you'd think if you could get it to hook up it would fly, hmmmmmmmm project for next year!
I'll save you the effort. Great engine poor chassis. Chassis is floppy, strut towers are not rigid enough, lowering does nasty things to the suspension geometry for even street use without a cure other than drop spindles which are not legal.
Most recent attempt I can remeber is the 87 at Sunset. It wasn't very successful. 302 fuelies are run by Santa at Sunset and one at KD in Birds. Lots of power but can't turn. Unless you can reprogram the injection you are going to have 14:1 ish stock that is going to get hot over the length of an enduro.
I don't think you'd be happy after you put in all the effort.
Injection is damn near impossible to get correct. I know from experience, and it runs hot. Still fighting that gremlin, and will probably lose. 14.1 ratio is conservative, under load ours drops to maybe 13.... and up to 17 with 14 inches of vacuum.. bye bye heat control, hello power loss. Once the ECM hits 215' F, it starts cutting power, and sets codes all over. If I cannot get it tuned right by the end of the season, its gone.
Rip out the injecton change the distributor and run a carb, hell while your at it throw in a 351W and really go balls out ;D

solves that problem

Have to say, he is right on the heat issue.
