This list was partly posted in another thread, but I'm not certain that the drivers from the other speedways always head over to the Delaware boards to see what we're up to.
I am currently promoting a Bone-Stock 4 & 6 cylinder race at the track which will run on October 15th. The format is similar to an old-school enduro event. Some four-cyinder drivers have been excited about the possibility of joining in the fun either with their existing equipment or a purpose-built car for the event.
Studying the rulebooks for the four-cylinder classes around the province, I find there are more similarities than differences. Many are close to the Bone Stock spec, but have perhaps gotten away a bit with modifications to the setups of the cars. Here’s the general rules checklist to run your racing program against if you are an existing competitor from another track:
Nicely formatted checklist, available on the event info page now: http://www.delawarespeedway.com/wp-content/uploads/Other-Speedway-Notes.pdf
General event info: http://www.delawarespeedway.com/race-season/pumpkinsmasher
The goal here is to invite others to join the fun, without compromising the stock-nature of the event. Here is a text verision of the same list:
To run this event I need a:
- Have-Fun Attitude
- Four or Six Cylinder Vehicle
- 4-point Roll Cage
- 5-point seatbelts
- Proper SA 2005 helmet
- Minimum Spec Fire Suit
I cannot run this event with:
- Engine modifications of any kind
- Suspension Modifications of any kind
- Fancy new tires.
If I wish to run this race, I will have to return to stock setup.
I can have a:
- Front hoop, provided I do not install additional Bone Stock bumper bars.
- For car numbers: I will not force you to repaint, but I do suggest getting a theme, or even covering your number with the name of your car. This is mainly for the fans.
I understand that:
- This event will be taking place on a full 1/2-mile speedway.
- That there will be obstacle cars pre-placed on the track.
- Vehicles that are disabled during the race will be removed, and may be replaced with an obstacle car.
- It is not a demolition derby - - but sheet metal shall be bent.

Some Speedway Specifics (After you read that attached link):
Sauble Speedway "Dacar" Type Cars
Are legal for competition, double check to make sure your roll cage is indeed up to spec for bone stocks. Make sure your castor and camber are stock.
Sauble Speedway Four Cylinder Cars
Are legal for competition with minor notes. Setup on the car (castor / camber) must be returned to stock position, same with anything you might have done to the springs. If you have any kind of 'performance tires', please don't bring them. Standard street tires only. If you are running a front-hoop, you are permitted to do so, but are not permitted to add the additional 'defensive rub rails' used by the Bone Stocks.
Flamboro Mini Stocks
Much the same as the Sauble Four Cylinders, your cars are legal for competition with a few minor rollbacks. This includes returning your castor / camber to stock. Again, 'performance tires' should be left at home. If you are running a front-hoop, you are permitted to do so, but are not permitted to add the additional 'defensive rub rails' used by the Bone Stocks.
Peterborough Four-Fun
Many of cars are legal for competition with modifications. One notable one is that your rulebook currently does not require a roll cage, but you will need one to run in this event. This investment will also improve your safety at your home-track. Remember to return your castor and camber back to stock, and ensure you are indeed in compliance with the no-performance tire rules. You are permitted to add defensive rub rails per the Bone Stock rulebook.
Peterborough Enduro (4 & 6)
Your cars are legal for competition, however like the four-funs your rulebook does not have detailed cage specs. You do need a roll cage to run this event, which will improve your safety at your home-track races as well. Also please return your castor and camber to stock. Same with the tires.
Peterborough Mini-Stock
Your cars are legal for competition, with minor modifications. Your cage specs are correct, but note that if you have installed a front hoop, you are not permitted to run front bumper bars in addition to the hoop. Castor and camber must be returned to stock. Please leave racing wheels and tires at home.
Varney Stock Four
The Stock-Four rules have a number of problematic issues for a stock series, mainly relating to the suspension on the cars. If a Varney Stock four car is hoping to participate, please contact me well in advance of the event.
Varney Enduro
Cars themselves are legal but require safety upgrades to cage and seatbelts to be approved. Stock setup, stock wheels.
Capital City Speedway Enduro (Ottawa)
The 4 & 6 Cyl cars from this division would be legal for competition, with some safety updates. You will require that 4-point roll cage, and will need to have a proper fire suit and helmet. This investment will improve your safety at your home-track as well. Side note: your rulebook is the thinnest of them all -- to fill in any gaps, you may check the Bone Stock rules, if you have questions, contact me.
Barrie Speedway Pure Stock
These cars also appear legal, if you are running by the letter of your rulebook. Your cage specs are correct, but note that if you have installed a front or rear hoop, you are not permitted to run front bumper bars in addition to that hoop. Castor and camber must be returned to stock. Please leave racing wheels and tires at home.
Sunset Speedway Mini-Stock
These cars are legal for competition, provided you return to stock castor and camber and leave any racing tires / rims off.
Mosport Speedway
If you have been heating or cutting your stock springs, please replace these with stock ones for this event. Remove all spacers and return to stock suspension setup (castor & camber) Return rims and tires to stock.
Any questions, let me know. I hope to see a few out for this fun event.

Not trying to discourage anyone here, but as someone who has raced ministocks for quite some time, you might want to re-think allowing them.
I would guess that there is or there would be at least a 4 second difference in lap times between a top running ministock and an enduro car, even with the proposed roll backs.
Take a closer look at the Barrie rules, especially the engine mods that the mustangs are allowed. The Sauble mini`s are stupid fast with their multi cam/multi valve cars.Even the four fun cars are not far off the ministock speeds.
I realize your intent is to get cars out and promote interest but you would be allowing people to bring a gun to a knife fight.Certainly, allow the sauble "da-cars" and the varney enduro cars, these should be exactly in line with the chaos cars.
Perhaps you should do as Varney does, buy one car that finishes in the top ten for $800 and then auction it back off. This would encourage people to stick to the low dollar intent of this class.
Points well taken.
The mustangs will prove to be non-factors - - rear wheel drive vehicles are simply not eligible for competition. This would obviously include the mustangs.
I’ve been told about the multi-valve / cam cars - - there was a possible pending rules amendment to ban them. The amendment stalled, but anyone who has one of these and has done work on it of any kind would likely not be a good fit for this event. Such a statement should act as a catch all for some of the multi-valve cars? (I am presuming these have had engine modifications).
We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel on the event - - as the first open four/six cylinder race we’ve hosted like this there is bound to be a learning curve. I am not beyond altering these guidelines (we are still a ways out from this event), but want to be sure that we've put together a good understanding of "what's what".
I would like to hear more thoughts about these multi cars and their effects on competition at their home tracks.
I will also add, that visiting drivers should contact me at the office well in advance of the event so we can talk briefly.
So what John is saying in layman's terms don't expect this to be a visiting car shitfest. Maybe pullout the transponders lol
In the rules it says no turbo cars, what about those supercharged cars?
