Hello all, I am helping a friend with his truck for the upcoming season. I am assuming most of you guys run a prepared tranny, but what are your thoughts to the Glide or the TH350. we have options to both, since we are building fresh. Please throw your two pennies in before we hit T-Direct with an order.
Crate motor, 3.73 rear gear.

Hey Dougy. I ran a TH350. Very bulletproof. I ran the same one for almost 4 seasons with just changing the fluid. If weight is an issue go the Glide. You can get a decent torque converter for either one. Also, the Glide has less rotating mass, but usually far more money than a 350. Either way, you are going to have to change the rear gear. T350 in 2nd with a 3.73=5.67. Way too much. Glide in 1st 1.76x3.73=6.56. I ran a 5.38 rear gear, with the T350 in 3rd. Got ususally 6150RPM. Ithink you guys have a 6000RPM chip rule this year too. Hope this helps.

I also ran an in-line filter, as well as the filter in the pan. Both changed once a year.
