There was a lot of chatter about this a week or 2 ago and it looks like they got some footage. Kennedy got the black flag for this heat and subsequently parked himself for the rest of the season in response.

What do you think?

I don't have a horse in this race, but I find it interesting if you watch in slow mo starting around the 14-19 second mark. Look at 72's tires. They're not pointed left. It looks to me like by the time he gets to the APC sign, he's just trying to keep it off the wall.

Maybe 10 didn't cause it, but it sure doesn't look like he was trying to prevent it from happening either.  😉

That's, of course, looking at it with my own uneducated non-race-car-driver's eye.

It sure was a bad whack though.

PS:  Good Gravy???  ;D

Painful to watch, and hard to judge. Could have kennedy backed out of it?? Maybe, but thompson should have known he was there. I really think it's a racing deal gone bad, and Thompson got the worse end of it. Kennedy's black flag wasn't because he wrecked him... it was because he was in that wreck and what if he won it? Imagine how angered the Thompson camp (and fans) would have been then. Secondly, he was only flagged for the Heat race, and would have been able to do the feature just fine. I asked an official on this, and I'm sure they would verify that. So his temper got the best of him on that (Kennedy). I am a Kennedy fan, so there's no bias here. I do hope the Thompson boys get a ride back out, and Kennedy continues. Secondly, I hope this crap doesn't happen anymore, simply from a safety point of view, and cost to our guys putting on the show.

Whether you guys want to believe it, racers are put on a standard a little higher, in smaller minds (no not mine)....... childrens, and inexperienced people (fans who don't compete). There are poeple watching you weekly, and you all become local heroes. What does that mean?? It means show them your good side, because you want that good feeling fans give you, and it makes you try harder. You guys can't tell me you don't brighten up inside when a young child wants to sit in your seat, or have a picture of you. If you forget this, you forget one of racing's (in my mind) best deals (having fans like/love what you do week-in week/out. So maybe try and show them a standard, your memories would be proud of. Think back to the first few times you picked a driver at your local home track... and why today you race. That's my two cents.

Please ignore my bad grammar/run-on sentences... never brainy in the morning.

It clearly shows who is at fault, in this video.  The drivers are out to put on a show for us fans, and Jessy did absolutely nothing wrong. Even the announcer that evening immediately after the accident announced  that Thompson was messing around with Jessy.  You can't take that back. We in the stands all heard that comment.  It would be really nice if the officials that made that call about black flagging Jessie would do the proper thing, and apology to Jessie for making a wrong call/bad call, as Jessie as you can see at approx the 1:14 time on that video never!!!!! left the line he was following, that Thompson came down on him purposely, as he knew Jessie was about to take his position.    Jessie should be given back everything he lost that night and a apology made to him, so that all the fans are able to hear and see that even the track officials can be wrong, and admit it.  Everyone is human, but at this point without this being done it is only showing favouritism
